VIEW JOBS 11/14/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-12T00:00 Description JOB DESCRIPTION: * Reporting to the Director of Accessibility Services, is responsible for the day to day operations of the department including all aspects of access services and disability resources for students, faculty and/or staff of Emory University and Emory Healthcare. * Evaluates and implements accommodation needs. Is knowledgeable of and utilizes academic and study skills resources, as applicable. * Ensures that access matters are appropriately addressed and adequately managed in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations. * Engages in reasonable accommodation processes for students and employees. * Collaborates with the Human Resources Division (University and Healthcare representatives), the Faculty Staff Assistance Program (FSAP), the Division of Campus Life and academic units across campus to assess situations and provide appropriate assistance for faculty, staff and/or students. * Develops and presents training modules. * Partners with the Director to coordinate ADA related programming throughout the enterprise. * Serves as the Faculty liaison. * Assists with auxiliary services (i.e. testing, interpretation, etc.). * Directs all aspects of programmatic evaluations and develops best practices initiatives. * Designs and prepares reports. * Prepares, disseminates and analyzes responses for annual satisfaction surveys. * Provides guidance in the resolution of ADA complaints in conjunction with other members of Emory University and Emory Healthcare. * Demonstrates leadership and advocacy by promoting advancement and development of social justice within various systems including campus/education, finance, legal, and healthcare. May hire, supervise and evaluate a small staff. * Performs related responsibilities as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * A master's degree in education, counseling, psychology or a related field and three years of progressively responsible ADA Compliance services or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. * A Juris Doctorate (JD) is preferred. * A working knowledge of pertinent federal statues, laws, rules and regulations, and policies applicable to persons with disabilities. * Ability to interpret psycho-educational evaluations and other professional documents.
