We are seeking a full-time Tax Accountant to work in our Mineola, NY tax office. The base salary range for this position is $59,500 - $80,500.

The Tax Accountant is expected to perform a wide range of duties for this tax office focusing on small business and individual tax clients.

Duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

• Interview clients to gain a basic understanding of their financial affairs

• Reviews financial information supplied for accuracy

• Prepare taxes for individuals. Knowledge of estates, trusts and small businesses required.

• Answer inquires and research on tax questions

• Be resourceful in finding ways to help our clients using the wide range of services our company offers

• Other duties as assigned by the Tax Branch Manager

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

• Five years of work experience preparing taxes for individuals and businesses

• Experience working directly with clients and ability to clearly explain accounting and tax matters

• Experience with Ultra Tax CS a plus

• Professional, courteous and concise communication skills; active listener

• Ability to pay close attention to detail and make rules-based, analytical decisions

• Highly organized and proactive thinker able to meet deadlines inherent in the tax and accounting profession.
