We are currently seeking experienced engineers to optimize and develop fabrication processes of advanced optical components as we transition from research to production. This is a full-time position that requires Bachelor's or higher-level degree in engineering, physics, or similar, combined with significant experience in developing and implementing complex manufacturing solutions. Successful candidates must be comfortable working in a dynamic cross-functional team and exhibit excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of optical designers responsible for the modeling of critical components employed in next generation near-eye displays meeting stringent size, weight, cost and performance targets

  • Manage the modeling and simulation engineering activities from creating capabilities, developing tools, creating designs, tolerancing designs and closing the loop from design to manufacturing

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to achieve all of the above

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of management experience in the optics, lithography and nanofabrication field

  • M.S. or Ph.D in the field of Optical Sciences, Physics, Electrical Engineering or similar

  • Experience with electromagnetic modeling and analysis of nanoscale structures, anisotropic materials, films or holographic elements

  • Experience in new development environment and productization of new technologies

  • Experience in advancing nascent technologies and solving technical problems

  • Experience with optical design using standard design software such as CODE V, Zemax, LightTools or FRED

  • Experience with multiple optical technologies in the areas such as imaging or illumination systems, light sources, thin films, polarization optics, adaptive optics or color science

  • Experience with developing optics for products, design of experiment methodologies and statistical data analysis methods and software (JMP, MATLAB, Python, etc.)

  • Leadership and communication experience

  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration
