Carollo Engineers is an environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are currently seeking a Staff Engineer to join our team in West Palm Beach, FL.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performing engineering work on water and wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure

  • Computer modeling of water distribution networks, collection system networks

  • Work on engineering planning and design projects

  • Preparation of technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables

  • Data entry and analysis

  • Prepare cost estimates for various water and wastewater projects

  • Permitting and alternative analysis

  • Assist with developing plans and specifications

  • Participate in field activities and investigations, and provide engineering services during construction

Required Skills

  • Application of engineering principles in the area of hydraulics and water resources

  • Proficient in MS. Excel

  • Work well in a team environment

  • Have the ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team

  • Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting

  • Attention to detail, with ability to understand concepts as part of a larger whole

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • 2 years of directly-relevant experience in water and wastewater engineering

  • Engineer-in-Training Certification

  • Experience with hydraulic modeling software packages

  • Experience with ArcGIS

Preferred Experience

  • Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer

  • 2 to 6 years of related experience in water and wastewater engineering

Control & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military, commercial and industrial gas turbine engine control, and diagnostic systems. CDS is responsible for all aspects of Pratt & Whitney engine control and diagnostic system development including: requirements analysis & definition, system & software architecture, algorithm design, and product software design, verification & validation. We integrate design across engine system modules and with the air vehicles and provide support throughout the complete engine product life cycle. As a Staff Engineer you will perform a wide range of technical tasks in support of engine control & diagnostic systems, software development, and testing (may include component and software requirements definition, development, integration, test, verification and support). Responsibilities: * Provide Control system and component requirements analysis, development & allocation to software. * Generate, coordinate, document, maintain and evaluate component and software requirements and specifications. * Develop/verify/validate control & diagnostic systems software embedded in the engine electronic control. * Develop physics-based models for propulsion engine applications * Run and analyze steady-state and transient engine control models to evaluate performance * Ability to run Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) predictions * Lead and/or support engine and/or bench test planning, definition, setup and test execution activities including resolution of anomalies. * Analyze data from bench, engine, ground and flight test to resolve anomalies and ensure compliance to requirements. * Coordinate and resolve component-related issues during engine build and test. * Lead and/or support investigations and continuous improvement initiatives by identifying, implementing and validating product and process improvements. * Coordinate and monitor project activities to ensure successful performance to program requirements and execution of product development milestones. * Strong communication, planning, interpersonal, and teaming skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and multi-organizational environment. * Exhibit excellent cross discipline communication skills. * Proven track record of achieving results in a technical role.
