WHKS has an opportunity for a Water/Wastewater Project Manager to use their knowledge and skills in the design and management of water/wastewater projects in Minnesota and surrounding states. The successful candidate will be technically proficient, personable, and value a collaborative work environment focused on creating solutions for our clients and communities. Responsibilities Include:
Oversee detailed studies, modeling and design of wastewater collection, water distribution and stormwater management systems and facilities
Oversee and prepare evaluation reports for water and wastewater treatment facilities
Prepare engineering plans, plan specifications and other contract documents for the design of water/wastewater systems
Manage multi-discipline projects involving survey, civil, geotechnical, electrical/ mechanical, and structural teams
Lead the production of design calculations and technical reports
Oversee the quality control and budget management of projects
Research issues related to wastewater that impact individual projects
Interact with governmental agencies for review and approval of projects
Effectively communicate with clients to develop strong relationships, review project needs, and secure contracts
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's of Science Degree in Civil Engineering
8 - 15 years of experience in water/wastewater systems design
EI is required or willing to take FE exam within 6 months
Professional Engineer in Minnesota or ability to obtain Minnesota license within 6 months is preferred
Valid driver's license
Desirable Qualifications (Successful candidate need not have all to apply):
Wastewater treatment and collection, and water treatment and distribution project management experience
Collection system field investigation and rehabilitation projects (I/I reduction) experience
Knowledge of options and challenges in Minnesota and surrounding states regarding nutrient reduction, effluent toxicity, and current drinking water treatment
Effective technical writing, public speaking, and public meeting skills
Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
SewerGems or InfoSWMM modeling
