Position Overview
Clients are turning to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects to lead and manage multi-disciplined, integrated design teams to work together to improve schedule, track design progress, control costs and minimize risk.
Kiewit Industrial & Water Engineering (KIWE) has an immediate opening for a Sr. Engineering Program Manager, to lead strategic initiatives in the engineering design pursuit and execution of Water/Wastewater projects. You will be in a leadership role within a highly collaborative and matrixed organization, hat is developing water infrastructure solutions that seamlessly transition from project development to design plans to completed projects that achieve client expectations and further Kiewit's legacy of excellence.
In this role, you will provide engineering focused guidance and oversight of Engineering Project Managers and their teams during pursuits, project development, estimating, project initiation, design management, execution, and closeout within the Water/Wastewater market segments. You will be responsible for multiple project teams at various stages of execution and requires proactive communication, coordination, and follow-up to meet the project goals and objectives and ensuring project scope work, schedule and budget are clearly defined and understood. Advanced engineering knowledge of the Water/Wastewater market with the ability to develop and strategize solutions for our clients, will be key to your success.

Location
Ideally, the role will be based out of our Kiewit Lenexa Kansas office, but we will consider remote work locations, that would be near other Kiewit office locations. Travel could be up to 50% of the time.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Assist and support Executive leadership with short-term and long-term strategy development and business initiatives within the organization
Function as an established representative of Kiewit's brand, readily supporting business development and integral to the win strategy of pursuits.
Collaborate with the regional Water Markets & Strategy professionals as the primary engineering contact to interface with customers to support project and business development needs (client meetings, proposal messaging, interviews).
Develop strategic plans for new business opportunities and foster long-term customer relationships
Communicate/present industry trends, competitive situations, or technology/regulatory issues that impact Kiewit execution strategies
Identify current and future pursuit and/or project risks along with development of mitigation strategies
Manage and interpret data and results for multiple projects such that sound business decisions can be made based on these results
Pursuit & Project Performance Leadership
Collaborative senior management responsibility during the SOQ/RFP proposal development phases for pursuit opportunities ensuring technical design contract compliance, design execution strategy development, technical proposal content accuracy, risk assessments and performance guarantees
Senior management leadership for concurrent multiple internal and external engineering teams on municipal infrastructure and industrial water facility designs while ensuring that all contractual design and permitting requirements are met
Senior management responsibility for project engineering performance: financial, integrated schedule, client relations, deliverable quality, project technical risk mitigation, performance guarantees, and technical design contract compliance
Drive execution certainty through review and enforcement of project procedures consistent with contractual documents, quality plans and corporate policies for all engineering work
Able to change focus from internal to external, building relationships with customers, partners, and project stakeholders
Establish and maintain sponsor-level zippering relationships with customers, other Kiewit functions/districts, subcontractors, and key technology providers throughout the project lifecycle
Share best practices and execution experience to set project teams up for success

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in engineering in any discipline from an accredited university
Advanced Technical or Business Degree - MS, MBA (preferred)
Professional Engineer (PE) registration
20+ years' experience in project/program management, engineering design, estimating, and start-up/commissioning of municipal water/wastewater projects with focus on Design-Build / EPC project delivery
Knowledge and application of alternative project delivery methods (PDB, FPDB, CMAR, DBOOM, DBFOM, P3).
Demonstrated success as a Project Director, Project Manager or Program Manager on collaborative design-build/EPCC projects
Well versed and knowledgeable in supplier, vendor, designer, and subcontractor coordination and interface management
Appreciation and understanding of the operations of other functions (e.g. Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, SQS, Business Management, Estimating, etc.)
Capable of autonomous management of multiple projects and personnel
Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills, including reporting and presenting
Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives
