As a Drafting Technician on our Water/Wastewater team, you will provide assistance to engineers/designers/surveyors using CAD and Revit software operations to create plans and perform minor design work. You will also contribute to project production sheets by adding dimension/layout plans and title/detail sheets. You may also travel to job sites for observation and to perform field work.

Challenge? Support and lead engineers and scientists within our Buildings and Infrastructure Line of Business in our Omaha office. You will work on studies, designs, and field assignments for our water resources projects. The role will involve working with multi-disciplinary teams through the planning, design, and implementation phases of projects completed for primarily municipal and state clients. This individual will also assist with delivering projects and serving and developing clients. Candidates should be self-motivated, detailed oriented, quality driven, and team-focused. Occasional travel may be required. Our Water and Water Resource Engineers: * Work on stormwater conveyance, flood plain and stream restoration evaluations including alternatives evaluations, optimization, modeling, cost analysis, preliminary/detailed design, permitting, and construction engineering services. * Assist with design and planning for stormwater conveyance projects including pump design, hydraulics and modeling. * Work under the supervision of mid- and senior-level engineers and technologists. * Prepare engineering conceptual designs, detailed designs, reports, studies, calculations, planning, and modeling. * Perform routine assignments which are clearly defined and require the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. * Evaluate the selection and/or modification of standard techniques, procedures, criteria and systems to efficiently meet project goals. * Understand, edit, and coordinate project planning reports, design specifications and drawings. * Make site visits and conduct site audits. * Perform field work to assess existing flood plains, stream channels and storm sewer systems. * Perform resident project representative and field observation duties on construction projects. * Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline. * Professional Engineering license is desired or ability to obtain within 18 months. * At least 3 year's work experience. * Extensive experience in flood plain modeling, such as HECRAS * Well versed in basic software such as Microsoft Office suite. Preferred Qualifications: * Master's degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline. * Adept at interpersonal relationship building, conflict resolution, and participating in diverse teams. * Experience with ArcGIS and graphics/CAD software #BIA At Jacobs, we help prepare people for new opportunities and challenges.
