The Water Treatment Plant Supervisor will report to the Process Superintendent and is responsible for oversite of daily operations and personnel (26) operating two 1000 - 3000 gpm mine water treatment facilities, a potable water system, an underground water treatment, and a 10,000-gpd sewage treatment plant in a safe, cost efficient, and environmentally responsible manner. The incumbent will continually monitor and maintain accurate logbooks and other record keeping systems as required; communicate with other departments that support or are affected by water treatment activities; immediately identify and mitigate potential hazards. The schedule for this position is 15 days on at the remote site located about 45-miles north of Juneau, accessible only through company transportation, and 13 days off.

Responsibilities:
Through consistent leadership, ensure procedures for treatment plant operations, safety, environmental regulations and environmental spill response are followed; ensure all equipment is maintained and in proper working condition; and that records are properly maintained
Provide technical expertise on operating protocols and parameters to ensure safe, efficient water quality and discharge while meeting production demands
Formulate and implement water treatment adjustments based on plant conditions and potential contaminants to protect effluent water quality and plant equipment
Keep facility, storage, and surrounding area clean and organized.
Ensure that the water treatment facility and its operators comply with State and Federal discharge standards by following permit guidelines, regularly testing the effluent water, and keeping meticulous records.
Knowledge, Skill, and Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in process and/or treatment plant operations, treating mine impacted water, monitoring and troubleshooting plant systems, chemical handling, pumping and associated equipment. Strong oral and written communications skills, problem solving skills, personnel development and training skills.
Experience in conducting daily crew safety and dissemination meetings to manage emerging priorities.
Prior process supervisory experience preferred.
State of Alaska Water Treatment Plant Certification or Transferable Certification preferred.
Mine Water Treatment experience preferred.
Associates degree in water treatment is preferred.
Preference given to Alaska residents.
