Summary

The purpose of the Field Foreman is to direct the operations of field work with water transfer technicians and leads.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Attend Monday morning Ops meeting to review operations and plan for the coming week.

  • Plan jobs from route to rig up / rig down operations.

  • Finalize the inventory count on a given job. Train water transfer lead on proper inventory procedures.

  • Efficiently direct all aspects of jobs and is aware of all operational costs and controls.

  • Direct pump and other equipment placement by design in order to achieve the target rate.

  • Troubleshoot design and mechanical issues related to pumping water from a source to a location.

  • Insure that all required maintenance is performed on pumps, trucks, trailers, etc.

  • Trains water transfer technicians/leads in completing all daily paperwork as required by MBI.

  • Inspect all equipment on installation, daily during pumping operations and on rig down.

  • Trains employees on MBI safety policies and SOP while working within a team/crew environment.

  • Conduct JSA/tailgate meetings to identify and mitigate hazards for every job task.

  • Must be able to identify a negative trend in crew(s) attendance/behavior and discuss with FOM.

  • Train water transfer technicians/leads in safe and efficient execution of physical tasks per SOP and JSA.

  • Conduct operations in changing weather conditions with focus on crew safety and efficient job execution.

  • Mentor to water transfer technicians/leads on career path and professional growth.

  • Provide management with accurate daily status, incident reporting, crew schedule and plan for all jobs.

  • Properly report any and all incidents and injuries to safety and management.

  • Must complete daily billing for customers, and train leads on how to efficiently complete billing.

  • Delegate responsibility for the safe and efficient conduct of jobs but retain accountability for them.

Required Skills

  • Must be of strong character with a track record of safe leadership and peer respect.

  • Has a strong background in Safety Leadership and the development of a safety culture.

  • Must remain "Fit for Duty" between rotations of 3 weeks on and 1 off.

  • Must possess an intimate knowledge of water handling/transfer methods and techniques including pump curves, friction loss, and hazards associated with pressure, water hammer and pigging.

  • Understands concepts of asset and resource management (equipment, personnel and time)

  • Can project and plan labor requirements mindful of limitations on duty, rest and overtime.

  • Must be able to work in a team environment

  • Must be able to perform the essential functions in a fast paced and high stress environment.

  • Must possess exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work with current and potential customers, both internal and external.

Education

High School diploma, GED or equivalent

Water transfer experience must be at least 1.5 years of 2 winters in cold climate.

Licenses and Certifications

Valid driver's license

CDL class A (preferred)

Trained and certified to operate Skid Steers, Loaders, etc.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has supervisory responsibilities for two or more full-time employees

VIEW JOBS 12/5/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-05T00:00 Summary Water Transfer Field Operators will perform duties related to pumping water. Employees in this position will operate trailer mounted, diesel powered pumps to move water through 10 inch aluminum pipe and/or lay flat hose. Each crew will be on active frac sites monitoring tank levels and operating pumps to move water either onsite from tank to tank or from an offsite location (i.e. pond or water coral) to the frac site. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Must be of strong character having the ability to operate with crew safely. * Ability to execute the determined plan for the operation. * Must be able to take an accurate inventory count of a given job daily/final. * Have an understanding of pressures, and how they can negatively affect a long line transfer. * Able to assist in pump and other equipment placement; must also be able to efficiently build plan on rigging in the equipment in such a manner that will not impede the ability to hit a job's "target rate". * Transfer water utilizing pumps, aluminum pipe, lay flat hose and manifolds. * Troubleshoot design and mechanical issues related in pumping water from a source to a location. * Participate in JSA/tailgate meetings to identify and mitigate hazards for every job task. * Ability to maintain trucks, trailers, pumps and efficiently report and communicate needed repairs or preventative maintenance as per individual hours of service, miles, etc. * Inspect all equipment on installation, daily during pumping operations and on rig down. * Ability to follow all MBI safety policies and training procedures while working within a team/crew environment. * Must hold valid drivers license & be able to operate a company vehicle. * Must properly report any and all incidents. * Must be on time for shift, fit for duty, follow instructions, listen and learn. * Must be able to perform constant physical work. * Must be able to work in changing weather conditions. * Must actively participate in the company's behavior based safety (BBS) program. Required Skills * Ability to lift 50lbs. * Excellent organizational skills to keep trucks and equipment clean. * Excellent communication skills. * Must be able to provide accurate, timely reporting on all tasked activities and status updates during rig in, pump operations and rig down. * Ability to work irregular hours. * Ability to work in all weather conditions. * Ability to work in a team environment. * Ability to perform the essential functions in a fast paced and high stress environment. * Must possess exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work with current and potential customers, both internal and external.
