Minimum Qualifications
One year of experience as a Miami-Dade County Customer Service Representative 1, or high school diploma or GED, and two years of experience performing customer field services functions in water and sewer, natural gas, telephone, electricity, cable, geothermal, or other utility. Duties require the physical ability to stoop, kneel, and crouch, walk for extended periods in all types of weather, and lift and move up to 52 pounds. Must possess a Driver's license

This is a field position with limited supervision, performing field activities related to water services provided by the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department. Employees are expected to use critical thinking in the field related to turning on or disconnecting service based on findings, issuing citations, assessing the type of premise for billing rate designation, etc. Independent judgment is exercised in handling customers, initiating corrective action or collection efforts, and identifying situations requiring upper management's attention and bringing these matters to them.
Responsibilities include considerable tact, diplomacy, and independence in handling customer contacts for a County utility, as incumbents frequently communicate with the public. This position conducts various activities, including complex field investigations of customer complaints and claims about water and sewer services. They perform these types of services: high bill investigation requests, underground leak Investigations, submeter inspections, and service verifications.
