Our Virginia Beach, VA office is currently seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer/Water Resources Technical Lead with proven strength in engineering planning, design, and project management as it pertains to municipal and federal projects. In this role as a technical leader for our office, you will utilize your consulting expertise to manage and execute work on projects and to help ensure successful client relationships. In addition, you will also participate in the pursuit of business development opportunities and you will work closely with other passionate technical experts in the Mid-Atlantic Area and East Region.

Develop and maintain excellent relationships with federal, state, and local agencies and understand requirements and areas of opportunity for our clients within the regulatory framework
Design water resources projects related to stormwater quality and quantity management, green infrastructure, flood control infrastructure, stream restoration, living shorelines, and habitat restoration
Provide water resources/stormwater design services for infrastructure projects and support master planning efforts in water resources, including stormwater master plans
Participate in work groups and organizations to benefit the company's knowledge of issues and to understand client needs
Delegate project-specific activities and supervise work of other staff members
Coach and mentor junior engineers and designers; may include supervisory responsibilities
Technical and quality control review of study, design planning documents
Coordinate with project managers, client service managers and other project personnel from other disciplines
Provide consultation in specialized technical areas of expertise. Make recommendations, decisions, and solve problems
Work collaboratively with other office group leaders/supervisors
Perform and oversee technical analyses including hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, water quality investigations, and data management
Desired Skills and Experience:
BS degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or related field required; MS degree preferred
PE in Virginia or ability to obtain Virginia licensing through reciprocity within 6 months is required
8+ years of related experience in the water resources field
Strong technical background in planning and design, storm water treatment, water quality, and broader green and resilient infrastructure projects
Proven ability to provide effective mentoring and development of less experienced staff
Ability to manage projects and tasks with an interdisciplinary team
Valid driver's license and good driving record
Ability to use GIS, AutoCAD and Civil 3D a benefit
Ability to us spreadsheets, word processing, and other standard business software
Successful marketing, proposal writing, proposal management, and public presentations experience
Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and prepare written reports and documents
Strong technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and contextually essential
