Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and implementing water resource projects throughout California

  • Coordinate and prepare technical analyses and reports for a variety of water resources projects including water supply, groundwater management and sustainability, and flood management

  • As part of an integrated team, work closely and collaboratively with other project specialists, engineers, project managers, and project directors to execute projects effectively and efficiently

  • Development of spreadsheets and databases storing digitized data, documentation and geo-referenced data, conduct technical analysis and prepare associated written technical memoranda

  • Perform field work as needed to support projects

  • Work will be directed by various project managers with one of the goals being attainment of a Professional Engineering registration in California

Qualifications:

  • 0-3 years of experience

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or water resources related field is required; M.S. is desirable

  • E.I.T. is desirable, and ability to work towards professional registration

  • Ability to successfully formulate and execute technical assignments with minimal oversight and direction; desire to acquire and apply new skills and techniques with application to project assignments

  • Excellent computer skills with technical analysis software, CAD, MS Office, MS Project, PowerPoint, and other computer applications, GIS experience strongly preferred

  • Good verbal and written communication skills, be team-oriented and highly self-motivated, possess good problem-solving skills and be willing to respond to instruction

  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed

  • Valid driver's license

VIEW JOBS 3/5/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-03T00:00 STAFF INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER Detailed Description: In this role you will work closely with project managers and other team members to execute work involving conventional types of civil engineering principals and other related activities for water, wastewater, and recycled water infrastructure projects. Specific duties may include the following: * Assist with design of water, wastewater, and recycled water pipelines and pumping stations, including completing calculations and development of plans and specifications. * Prepare infiltration/inflow analysis and pipeline condition assessments. * Conduct flow monitoring and hydraulic modeling. * Assist with environmental studies, permitting, alternatives analyses, and other technical deliverables. * Assist with submittal reviews, requests for information, correspondence, change requests, and change orders for construction projects. * Assist with the preparation of calculations, technical memoranda, reports, drawings, specifications, and miscellaneous contract documents. * Check performance or conformity with plans and specifications as part of engineering services during construction. * Conduct field work as necessary for various projects. * Communicate effectively and coordinate with project teams including other disciplines (drafters, designers, and other engineers). * Successfully manage and deliver assignments on time and on budget. * Utilize internal project management tools and resources. * Adhere to Brown and Caldwell's QA/QC process. Desired Skills and Experience: * Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering * EIT preferred. * Coursework in fluid mechanics, hydraulics, structural analysis, soil mechanics, and surveying preferred. * Plan to obtain California PE * Good technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts * Excellent technical writing and communication skills * Self-starter, results-oriented, and ability to work under tight deadlines * Ability to work both independently and on large coordinated teams * Ability and willingness to perform field work at various sites * Strong Microsoft Office skills required, particularly Microsoft Excel.
