Dewberry is currently seeking an exceptional candidate to serve as a mid-level Water Resources Sr. Project Manager - Assistant Department Manager in our Bloomfield, NJ office for water resource projects including stormwater management, roadway drainage, open channel hydrologic/hydraulic analyses, bridge hydraulic and scour analyses, and environmental permitting. Candidates will be working with state agencies, private clients, local municipalities, and/or public utilities to provide a wide variety of water resource engineering support.

Responsibilities

  • Assigns tasks to engineers, technicians or administrative staff.

  • Plans and coordinates aspects of work.

  • Prepares scope, budgets, and schedules for assignments.

  • Assists with proposals to provide professional services.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • BS. Degree or higher in Civil Engineering (or related Engineering field), with emphasis in water resources

  • 10+ years of related experience

  • PE in NJ strongly preferred

  • Knowledge/experience with PondPack, StormCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS

  • Experience with bridge hydraulic and scour analysis, stormwater collection, drainage conveyance, and pumping for transportation-related projects is strongly desirable

  • Experience with NJDEP land use program regulations and permits preferred

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency with basic MS Office software

The Bloomfield, NJ office of Dewberry is looking for a Traffic Engineering Department Manager with a BS in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering and at least 15-20 years of experience in transportation planning and traffic engineering to direct the work of their existing engineering professionals and help grow traffic capabilities. Qualified candidates should have a familiarity with MUTCD and AASHTO; HCM and HCS; Synchro/Sim Traffic Software and similar analysis tools; Traffic Signal design; Roadway Lighting design; NJDOT design standards and practices; and transportation and land use reviews applicable to land development projects. Candidate will also need the ability to prepare traffic impact studies; develop and assess design and/or operational alternatives; and develop Transportation Management Plans (TMPs) in accordance with local, state and federal policies and requirements. Exposure to project management and budgeting, preparing technical and cost proposals, and understanding of QA/QC procedures are desirable. The ideal applicant will have the experience and/or desire to market transportation planning and traffic engineering services. Applicants must possess their PE in NJ and have experience working on projects in New Jersey. PTOE certification is desirable. Good oral and written skills are a necessity. Required Skills & Required Experience * BSCE or BSEE with NJ Professional Engineer license is required * Minimum 15 years of experience in traffic engineering * Working knowledge of NJDOT Transportation Management Plan Guidelines and Major Access Permit regulations * Working knowledge of Transportation Planning principles and practices as applicable to Corridor, Subarea and Local Circulation Studies and Feasibility Studies. * Working knowledge of contract plans preparation for all traffic control devices (signals, signing, striping and pavement markings, among others) including lighting, electrical and communication requirements as appropriate. * Experience and/or desire to market transportation planning and traffic engineering services * Excellent communication and organizational skills are required * Determine scope of work and prepare man-hour estimates for traffic engineering tasks * Quality control oversight for all aspects of traffic engineering tasks * Maintain good employee relations and project communication with both internal and external clients * Design-Build project experience is a plus * ITS planning and design experience is a plus * At this time, Dewberry will not sponsor a new applicant for work authorization. * Dewberry is an Equal Opportunity/ Affirmative Action Employer.
