LCRA's Water Quality Protection team is looking for a multifaceted manager with strong technical capabilities to lead the Water Quality Engineering & Planning program. The program implements water quality protection ordinances through comprehensive plan reviews and inspections for new developments and dredging projects in the Highland Lakes region. This position plays a meaningful role in protecting the water supply for more than a million people. You will be trusted to:

  • Lead and direct a team of specialists dedicated to protecting water quality

  • Provide expert-level mentorship on technical requirements of LCRA's watershed and dredging ordinances to staff and customers

  • Implement a technical review process that ensures projects achieve compliance with LCRA rules and are permitted in a timely manner

  • Implement a robust stormwater and water quality Best Management Practice inspection program

  • Coordinate LCRA's dredging program in the Highland Lakes

  • Ensure WQEP staff investigate and address complaints about stormwater compliance issues

  • Collaborate and interact with cities, counties, and other governmental jurisdictions on stormwater management and permitting issues

You qualify with:

  • Twelve or more years of experience in water quality analysis, monitoring, public outreach, program management, or other relevant experience, including three or more years of supervisory experience. A degree(s) in engineering, science, environmental management, water resource management or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.

  • Driver's license
