SUMMARY
Incumbents perform skilled activities related to the operation of groundwater production wells, water storage, water treatment plants, and water distribution systems. Incumbents are responsible for complying with regulations and permit conditions. Incumbents control treatment processes, inspect equipment, perform troubleshooting activities, take compliance samples, keep regulatory records, perform minor maintenance, and use a computerized maintenance management system.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED, and a minimum of three years of water utilities experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid Arizona driver license and have an Arizona Grade 3 Water Distribution System Operator and Grade 3 Water Treatment Plant Operator Certifications.
A Water Operator III shall be responsible for acquiring a minimum of 30 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) every three years to maintain ADEQ certifications.
SELECTION PROCESS
Applicants whose education, training and experience most closely meet the needs of the position may be invited to participate in a selection process to include a panel interview.
