This position has responsibility for the successful operation of the 28 MGD water treatment plant. You will need to have hands-on maintenance experience, strong attention to detail, experience with data collection, and experience in a lab environment. We are looking for you to have meaningful work experience in a Water Treatment Facility with a Valid Water Operator License.You bring your knowledge and drive to succeed and we will supportAs a Water Operator with ESG Operations, you will:

  • Monitor all processes, equipment, and chemicals to ensure effluent water meets applicable standards.
  • Collect and record data for record maintenance and reporting to designated state agencies.
  • Operate water pumping mechanisms, monitor panel boards, and adjust controls to regulate the flow and pressure of water during assigned shifts.
  • Conducts water treatment activities to include adding appropriate amounts of chemicals to raw water to disinfect, deodorize, and clarify water at regular intervals and regulating the flow of pre-treated water through sedimentation and filter devices
  • Records chemical composition of raw and treated water at designated intervals.
  • Perform housekeeping duties to include: Cut grass, clean tanks, sweep & mop floors, clean equipment, and various other duties to maintain the aesthetic appearance of the facility.
  • Calibrate all meters that they will be required to utilize through the course of the shift
  • Collect samples and performs various tests such as pH, D.O., and CL2 residual; analyze results and makes process control changes based on these lab results and instruction from their immediate supervisor
  • Document readings, test results, equipment adjustments and enter the data into a computer database to produce periodic and special reports
  • Monitor and observe treatment process for offensive matter; inspect equipment and monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges to determine load requirements and detect problems.
  • Make chemical feed adjustments as necessary. Change chlorine cylinders and check for leaks and adjust feed rate as required.


  • You will need to be familiar with process control and pertinent lab procedures
  • A valid Class III or higher Georgia Water Operator License
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid drivers license
  • Maintenance experience preferred
  • Strong detailed work style

Responsibilities: * Set-up the work area, at least 15 minutes, prior to the Plant shift start. * Extract blood from unborn calves in accordance with Thermo Fisher Scientific's standard operating procedures. The Blood Collector I will have a minimum of 5 days of supervised training with a Blood Collector II or Supervisor prior to being released to work independently. * The Blood Collector I is required to remain at the Plant in the collection area for the entire shift. As contractors working inside the Plant we don't have access to the entire Plant, only our collection area. A lunch break is required and should be coordinated with Plant production and collection workflow. * During the absence of the Blood Collector II, help prepare the daily paperwork for fetal blood production, pack product in coolers, and ship coolers using FedEx to an offsite raw processing facility, if applicable. Provide the tracking number(s) of the Fetal Bovine Blood Cooler Shipping Manifest &/or Blood Receipt. Scan or Fax a copy to the raw processing lab before shipping. Contact a Supervisor if there are any delays. * Perform clean-up duties throughout your shift as required. * During the absence of the Blood Collector II, the Blood Collector I will take inventory of all collection supplies. * During the absence of the Blood Collector II, the Blood Collector I is responsible for faxing the Weekly Production Analysis Report to a Supervisor. * A Blood Collector I who works at double shift plants may be required to cover their colleague(s) shift when they are on PTO between 1-3 days. * Maintain a working relationship with the Plant management assigned to oversee the blood collection operation. * May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
