How this role contributes to the Y's mission:
As a Y Water Fitness Instructor, you will provide a well-designed, physically safe water fitness program to serve the needs of the Y's s members and class participants. You will individually lead a class, respond to safety and emergency situations, motivate and educate members, and set up, move and store class equipment. You will be supported in your work as a part of the leading mission-driven organization for strengthening community, and the area's largest provider of swim lessons. The Y Water Fitness Instructor provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students of all ages in swimming classes. You'll contribute to the Y and to the community by enhancing the well-being and safety of all.
This work is right for you if you have:
A love of swimming and of helping youth and adults learn
The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and other Y associates
A willingness to obtain the Aqua Fitness, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Basic First Aid certifications, paid for by the Y
Reached the age of 16
