The Permian Operating Area is seeking a Water Engineer to work on the Permian Basin Development Team and contribute to one of Encana's core liquid rich growth properties. This position will work closely with the Permian Operations Field Construction, Regulatory, Production Operations, Completions Operations, EH&S and Development Teams to ensure best in class coordination and support. This position is in Denver, CO but some field travel is required.
We are seeking a candidate who works well in a team environment, ability to take on multiple tasks and has engineering experience from working in asset development, production, or facility engineering role.
The individual will have analytical and interpersonal skills with a focus on collaboration. The ability to work effectively with other professionals with varying levels of experience and from different backgrounds is an essential requirement to be successful in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with the development, production, and water teams to coordinate water infrastructure development that is aligned with the development team's reservoir development plans. This will include ensuring that optimal SWD, pipeline, and storage capacity exist to accommodate the Permian Basin's high water production growth.
Work closely with the water area engineers and production teams to ensure that completion activities and well pads are connected and supplied water on time and at a cost-effective price
Collaborate with water, production engineering and operations on future SWD, pipeline, and storage capacity designs to ensure full life cycle operability. Forecasting future capital and Opex associated with recycling, disposal and optimizing future expense for water infrastructure.
Analyze existing operating expense with production team to optimize and understand current costs
Conduct modelling and economic screening studies, as is necessary, to ensure facility infrastructure development is optimal
As needed, support team in design, execute, and manage the installation of pump stations, water pipelines and injection well facilities to ensure schedule and lowest project cost
Ensure communication between all stakeholders associated with the Permian Basin infrastructure development is effective
Bachelor's degree in engineering
good communication skills and a demonstrated positive attitude
willingness to learn and take on multiple projects
ability to apply sound judgment in making balanced decisions
capable of working independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
experience in asset development operations
familiarity with reading engineering drawings such as P&ID's, PFD's and piping drawings
focus on delivering requirements efficiently and effectively. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred
ability to meet Department of Justice requirements with or without assistance from Encana
