Wastewater Plant Operator Trainee

FULL TIME WASTEWATER PLANT OPERATOR TRAINEE

The City of Martinsburg is accepting applications for a full-time Wastewater Plant Operator In Training (OIT).

Graduation from high school or GED, or any equivalent combination of education is required. Candidate must obtain a Class I Wastewater Operator License within eighteen (18) months of date of hire.

Operators in Training will assist with the monitoring and maintenance of all wastewater plant equipment. They will assist with the collection of water samples for data analysis and record keeping purposes in accordance with local, state, and Federal requirements.

The trainee will be responsible for conducting supervised work activities based on specific technical instructions, and will perform tasks and assignments as directed by experienced lead operators. Applicants must be able to meet all physical requirements of this position.
