Must be willing to work a seven day rotating shift operation, including weekends and holidays.
The Operator will conduct regulatory compliance sampling for the wastewater discharge permit and provide process control monitoring.
Will provide support for training initiatives while FTE on boards.
Analyze data from controls, mechanical, electrical, chemical, and biological sampling and initiates change to insure continuous, cost effective treatment within state Primary Drinking Water Regulations.
Initiates corrective actions or alternative methods and procedures to continue operations if outages, repairs, breakdowns or process control issues in the plant occur.
Performs basic and advanced laboratory tests as needed.
This position is critical to GBBU operation.
It requires physical, chemical and microbiological analysis of the plant effluent for the Public Drinking Water System as well as brewing water.
Will be expected to conduct sampling to insure the water systems compliance with the Total Coliform Rule as well as routine analysis of the plant and distribution system effluent.
Will be required to interact with Production, Quality, EH&S, Engineering, Maintenance, State and local authorities, independent laboratories, chemical and parts suppliers, and contractors.
Will be required to work inside as well as outside in all seasonal elements.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Accredited technical training or associate degree in wastewater treatment operations is highly desirable.
Minimum of a Colorado Wastewater D certification required.
Colorado Wastewater C certification preferred.
Must have in depth knowledge of rules and regulations associated with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and Safe Drinking Water Act.
Must understand the scientific approach to problem solving as well as how to design and control experiments
Knowledge and understanding of water treatment plant operations, chemistry, microbiology and use of sophisticated analytical laboratory equipment is essential.
Considerable walking and lifting up to 40 pounds maybe required. Exposure to ambient temperature extremes and active physical work may be required.

Position Summary The Transmission System Operator position is responsible for the real-time operation of Xcel Energy's transmission system. The Transmission System Operator takes independent action to remotely operate and direct field employees in switching of the transmission system equipment for maintenance, and to restore the transmission system to maintain continuity and reliability of service. Continuously monitor and maintain Xcel Energy transmission system, voltages and power flows within specified operating ranges. Monitor and respond to abnormal conditions, alarms, flows, and changes on the transmission system. The Transmission System Operator has the independent authority to perform necessary actions, including load shedding, to maintain transmission system security. Essential Responsibilities * Maintain safe, reliable operation of the Xcel Energy transmission system, while ensuring stability of the regional transmission system in a manner consistent with approved operating practices and procedures. Direct field employees in switching. Schedule and assign operating work to field personnel. Troubleshoot failures in the electric system. Maintain working relationships with other utilities, generating stations, and Reliability Coordinators. Interact with other control center personnel and provide timely information of conditions of the transmission system. Ensure compliance to NERC, regional, and regulatory standard requirements. * Provide electric service to the Xcel Energy transmission customers, while continuously ensuring safety and protection to the public and personnel. Remove from service and restore transmission equipment for construction and/or maintenance, providing a safe zone of clearance to ensure safety of personnel. Monitor safety of field personnel. Coordinate emergencies with medical, fire, police, and internal personnel. * Maintain Xcel Energy transmission system voltages and power transfers within specified operating ranges. Monitor and respond to abnormal conditions, alarms, flows and changes on the transmission system. Take action to eliminate pre- or post-contingency violations based on security analysis output. * Communicate transmission system conditions and abnormalities to the Regional Reliability Coordinator and other impacted parties. Report transmission system equipment problems to maintenance providers and call-out personnel for repairs as necessary. * Track system abnormalities and prioritize equipment returning to service. Report significant outages to management. Write isolation and restoration procedures as required for scheduled and unscheduled switching. Write, maintain, and review the control center logs, Transmission Work Requests (TWR) and transmission outage summaries to ensure accuracy of all documents. Ensure accurate topology states in EMS and proper SCADA tags for out-of-service equipment. * Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of transmission system operation, including but not limited to new equipment, relaying, protective schemes and equipment upgrades, current FERC, NERC, RRO and RTO requirements. Participate in annual training plans designed to enhance expertise and assist other team members in expanding overall knowledge. Maintain NERC Certification through completion of required training is a condition of continued employment. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements * High school degree or equivalent. * Successful completion of certificate program in Electric Power Technology or equivalent program preferred. * Minimum of 3 years utility operations experience in electric distribution, transmission or power generation OR 3 years experience working with high-voltage auxiliary electrical systems, instrumentation & control or relay systems in manufacturing, refinery or chemical plant environment. * Successful completion of EEI System Operator/Power Dispatching (SOPD) screening test required. * NERC Certification required or ability to successfully obtain the NERC certification that is applicable for Transmission System Operations within 6 months of position start date. * Demonstrated ability to successfully complete the initial qualifications as defined in training program for the Transmission System Operator position. * Demonstrated ability to respond quickly and appropriately in a real-time, stressful environment. * Demonstrated ability to prioritize job tasks.
