Position Overview
The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill three (3) vacancies for the classification of Wastewater Facilities Operator II in the Department of Utility Services. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to six (6) months or up to one (1) year, depending on employment status
Under general supervision, responsible for the maintenance and operation of unit processes or subsystems of the wastewater treatment, collection, reclaimed water distribution and disposal facilities; performs related duties as required.
Note to applicants:
Pursuant to the Teamsters collective bargaining agreement, full-time non-probationary employees successfully completing the assessment process will be placed on an eligibility list to be used to fill vacancies in this classification for up to six (6) months.
Probationary full-time, part-time, temporary employees, and external candidates who successfully complete the testing process will be placed on separate list(s), which may be used to fill vacancies for up to one (1) year. If the vacancy is not filled by full-time non-probationary employees, the separate list(s) may be utilized.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school, or the equivalent.
Two (2) years of full-time skilled operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment and reclaimed water distribution system.
Note: An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered.
Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483.
Must possess and maintain a current and valid Nevada Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Grade II certification issued by the Nevada Water Environment Association.
Employee must maintain certificates and licenses as required by federal, state, and local regulatory agencies for the position.
Employee will be expected to obtain certification and/or training through the City of Henderson in: Forklift, CPR, First Aid, Fire Extinguisher, Hazardous Materials, Confined Space, and Infectious Disease, as well as certificates and licenses as required by federal, state, and local regulatory agencies for the position.
