Responsible for customer service, follow-ups, and materials management for warranty requests on homes during the warranty period.
Primary responsibilities will be to provide hands on repairs and completion of other warranty work in the customer's home.
Work effectively with customers to ensure resolution of issues within the 1st year of occupancy.
Identifying and analyzing recurring warranty issues and working with Construction to develop ways to prevent them.
Effectively communicate in English.
Meetings with homeowners to inspect and/or repair work requested.
Communicate and assist with coordinating service with other trades/vendors as needed.
Verify with homeowner that work is completed to their satisfaction and obtain their signature on the Customer Service Request (CSR).
Complete all paperwork (safety checklist, service request, etc) and submit by date and time required.
Good knowledge of general construction including drywall, paint/texture, tile and basic carpentry.
Must have a valid driver license and have clear driving record for company vehicle insurance purposes.
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interface with all level of customers and coworkers.
Attend periodic meetings.
Communication skills - effective oral and written communication skills including the correct usage of business English, grammar, and punctuation.
Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Problem solving skills in order to be creative with some repairs.
Knowledge of building materials essential.
Ability to use tact and skill in dealing with other staff, vendors, and customers.
Must have ability to handle multiple tasks in a high stress environment.
Must be able to work the assigned schedule and comply with the company's attendance policy.
Education and Experience:
At least 1-2 years' experience in handyman/repair work required.
Experience in homebuilding industry preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must have the hand/eye coordination necessary to operate construction tools, office business machines (calculator, phone, fax, copier, etc.) and a personal computer.
Hearing and speech sufficient to verbally communicate in person and on the telephone.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Must be able to ascend and descend on ladders.
Must be able to walk on roofs of homes (1 and 2 story) for roof inspection/repair.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperature conditions (i.e., heat, snow, ice).
Must have the ability to drive and safely operate a vehicle.
Occasional overnight travel required.
