Job Designation

Responsible for the management of the entire warranty process from forecasting to actual payment of either product or performance warranty claims. Analyze and adjudicate warranty settlements, generate warranty agreements in cooperation with Marketing personnel, prepare warranty reserve forecasts and monitor expenditures from those reserves.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the adjudication of warranty settlements for product claims based on established policies and for interacting with Customer Support Area Managers and/or customers to reach an equitable and accurate claim settlement. Direct interface with MRO Module personnel is also required in order to respond to customer's claims for warranty repair of company product.

  • Analyze, audit and reach settlement of brake performance warranty claims. This involves verifying supplied data as to its accuracy and whether calculations used are in compliance with the calculations outlined in signed warranty agreements. The creation and verification of detailed spreadsheets matching contract calculations is critical to this effort.

  • Consider customer contracts for Limitations of Liability related to warranty claims and contribute to the warranty adjudication process management by governance of warranty adjudication in balancing payments with outstanding or developing customer claims.

  • Proactive interface with various departments within the organization is required in order to acquire the information needed to accurately forecast, maintain and monitor the warranty reserves.

  • Responsibility for the accurate input of actual claim data into the warranty database. This information is then used to prepare various reports to Finance, Programme Managers, Engineering and others as required.

  • Provide input for monthly Accounting entry of any Warranty related Intercompany charges.

  • Create charts and graphs of Warranty expenses and part quantities on a Program level for the Executive Sustaining Program reviews.

  • On a monthly basis, provide analysis of total MABS warranty expenditures as input to the KPI Flight Deck Warranty chart.

  • Create and maintain Service Material numbers for any credit memo warranty request.

  • Create and maintain Warranty Masters and maintain the SAP warranty time period file.

  • Provide accurate, timely and positive responses to customers' questions regarding company policy for warranty issues.

  • Preparation and accomplishment of other ad hoc assignments as required by the Director of Customer Support.

  • Carry out special duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

Education : University degree (or equivalent experience) required.

Years Experience : 5 years of relevant experience

Skills :

  • Prior experience and knowledge of Accounting processes is critical.

  • Technical understanding of products required.

  • Demonstrated business acumen including understanding of contracts and conflict resolution.

  • Root cause analysis skills desirable.

  • Good planning, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, problem-solving, oral and written communication skills.

  • Working knowledgeof PC's in the current company operating system environment.

  • Working knowledge of spreadsheet and database software is required.
