Position Summary:

Facilitates quality verification of products and processing of non-conforming material. Assists and provides guidance to cross functional team for First article inspection, Capability studies, Measurements R&R studies and SPC. Documents and tracks progress of internal and internal non-conformance and quality reporting.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains the quality systems for finished goods and manufacturing inspection.

  • Implements and monitors vendor source inspection and provides quality liaison to the team.

  • Documents discrepant materials and maintains IMRB inventory at lowest possible level. Helps team leaders with disposition of discrepant material.

  • Troubleshoots problems in manufacturing and assembly. Measures parts for compliance to specification and submits engineering change requests to recommend solutions to problems with print or process changes.

  • Review submitted first articles, post data for review.

  • Provides basic statistical support to all areas of manufacturing upon request. Machine/tool capability studies, sampling plans and control plans.

  • Performs duties as listed in the Internal Quality Auditor job description.

  • Aids in engineering, purchasing and outside vendors in definition of part non-conformance and measurement methods.

  • Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled.

  • May support other teams as required.

  • Participates in quality problem solving efforts.

  • May participate in Warn Automotive selection process as necessary.

  • May be required to work overtime.

  • Work safely and without injury.

  • Accountable for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance in assigned area. Responsible for design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, including a self-assessment and report to management.

  • Accountable for developing and monitoring processes and practices necessary for legal and ethical compliance in assigned area.

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Associates degree with Technical or Quality focus. Certified Quality Technician preferred.

  • Three or more years; related experience in a manufacturing environment and demonstrable knowledge and experience in SPC capability studies, Gage R&R, Long-term Gage studies, GD&T, and First Article.

  • Education and experience in basic statistical analysis is preferred. (see qualifications)

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of SPC, GD&T, with demonstrable ability to facilitate Cross functional activities.

  • 8D corrective action and FMEA knowledge is preferred

  • Knowledge in ISO administration is preferred.

  • PC skills with knowledge in Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to prioritize, schedule, and complete tasks/assignments with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent documentation skills.

  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

  • Ability to continuously improve and learn new skills.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, customers and visitors.

  • Ability to effectively problem-solve.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Ability to facilitate activities necessary to a project's completion.

Physical Demands:

Position Summary: Working independently and collaboratively with others, this position plays an integral role in executing our mission, philosophy, and commitment to providing high quality products and exceptional customer service to our internal and external customers. Under close supervision, operates bench-type or floor-mounted machines (e.g. drill presses, grinders, broaches, screw machines, manual and CNC mills and lathes, shrink-wrap machines, saws etc.) within production operations. Operation is routine and repetitive. Essential Functions: The essential functions of this position require prioritizing and completing all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner, adjusting for changing priorities and availability of resources, and demonstrating initiative in identifying additional job-related tasks to be completed when time permits. * Perform machinist duties as assigned using standard procedures, tools, materials, machines and equipment in a fast-paced work environment while meeting all established production expectations and deadlines. * Follow well-established guidance from specified process instructions, blueprints, and communicated instructions from other team members. * Implement the Quality Policy and Procedures in all aspects of daily duties and responsibilities, including evaluating unusual vs. ideal and usual quality based on finished product sound, vibration, temperature, operation and appearance. Inspect parts and products to detect and identify potential defects, anomalies, surface quality non-conformities, and other forms of observable physical or structural product quality deficiencies using personal observations in conjunction with inspection, measuring and calibration devices. * Operate machine while loading and tending runs of parts, or performing one-step operations on individual parts, including making simple machine adjustments and running one or more machines as directed or requested. * Collaborate with Warn leadership and team members during team meetings, system reviews, safety meetings, and other forms of problem-solving discussions to further define and improve department strategies designed to meet and exceed quality objectives. Participate meaningfully in Warn safety activities like R3, Safety Committees, Safety checklist/audits, team Safety projects, etc., as directed or requested. * Serve as a role model for and mentor less experienced or new machinists on machining process, responsible and efficient time management, commitment to exceeding quality and production expectations, professional and respectful communication, and safe work habits.
