Pay for this position is: 2023-24 Salary $26.42/hour.

This position's responsibilities are to coordinate the operation of the district warehouse by receiving, checking in and filling orders for equipment, supplies, and food products. Responsibilities include maintaining stock, taking inventory, assists in processing UPS returns and pickups and coordinating the truck drivers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Depending upon the individual assignment, the Warehouse Person may perform all or a combination of the following:

1.Receives and inputs into inventory supplies at the district warehouse including food items and United Parcel Service (UPS) deliveries; assists in processing UPS returns and pick ups; lifts and positions delivered items as necessary.

2.Checks bills of lading, shipping invoices and purchase orders of supplies and materials as to condition and quantities received; notes discrepancies and problems; completes purchase orders.

3.Fills requisitions for departments and schools from inventory; verifies shipment accuracy; ships to proper location.

4.Completes warehouse orders for food; works in freezer to palletize and ship food requests to proper destination.

5.Dispatches and coordinates warehouse activities with truck drivers.

6.Maintains inventory of and bar codes electronic items and high cost items to ensure proper tracking; submits paper work for inventory control.

7.Determines where freight is stored in warehouse; codes supplies; stocks shelves; makes up pallets of cased goods; stores inventory; lifts and positions heavy items and operates a variety of equipment such as forklift, pallet jack, carts, load bars, scales, box cutters and other equipment.

8.Investigates and finds location to ship orders received from vendors without accompanying purchase order or destination; calls vendors and/or accounts payable as needed.

9.Maintains security of building and inventory and equipment; maintains security and safety procedures and awareness; ensures safety and maintenance of vehicles and equipment; performs minor maintenance as needed.



  1. Schedules and assigns daily activities of truck drivers for efficiency and effectiveness; answers driver inquiries and resolves problems and conflicts; arranges for backup and relief coverage; may drive a variety of vehicles to make deliveries as necessary.

OTHER FUNCTIONS



  1. Answers telephone; answers inquiries on procedures and stock; assists staff with needs and requests; determines shipment times.

  2. May take annual and periodic inventory; maintains a variety of supply and warehouse records, files and correspondence; provides a variety of information and reports as assigned. May receipt supplies, monitor inventories and input stock data to inventory systems.

  3. Maintains cleanliness and neatness of warehouse.

  4. Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to the Director of Child Nutrition.

MENTAL DEMANDS

Required to meet inflexible deadlines; required to perform repetitive tasks continuously.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Maybe called in for emergencies if available; required to stand for prolonged periods. Required to lift, move or carry objects weighing more than seventy (70) pounds.

Occasionally required to wear protective gear or clothing. May need to take precautions to avoid exposure when occasionally handling potentially harmful chemicals or materials. Occasionally required to work outdoors in inclement weather. Required to remain in confined work area; required to work in freezer; periodically required to work in non-routine positions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

Education, training, skills, and experience necessary to carry out the assignment.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Skill in oral and written communication. Skill and accuracy in arithmetic for inventory management.

Skill and accuracy in record keeping and inventory control. Skill in scheduling and coordinating. Ability to identify problems and provide solutions within the scope of the position.

Ability to operate a variety of warehouse equipment such as forklift, pallet jacks, loading ramps and related equipment. Ability to drive, shift and clutch a variety of vehicles. Ability to use a computerized inventory system.

Required to train supply drivers. Knowledge of warehouse delivery and supply procedures and practices. Knowledge of safety and security procedures and practices.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Skill in time management. Ability to organize and prioritize work.

Requires to assign, schedule and coordinate work. Effective customer relation skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of others. Passage of a pre-employment physical is required (the district will assume the cost).

Licenses/Special Requirements

Requires fingerprinting and background check to determine that there have been no convictions involving physical molestation, abuse, injury or neglect of a minor. Must complete training in and adhere to district infection control plan. Licenses/Special Requirements
