Warehouse/Logistics Supervisor - Kankakee, Illinois

If yes, this position may be for you! As the most on-site expert in our small but growing manufacturing facility in Kankakee, IL, you will partner closely with the team to develop and optimize warehouse & logistic activities across the plant.

This plant is owned by Basic American, Inc., so it has the stability of larger ownership, but is run as a wholly owned subsidiary, so it feels more like a small, growing start-up environment. This opportunity comes with the excitement and challenges of a growing start-up, so perseverance and flexibility are critical competencies you will bring.

In this role, you will:

  • Manages the management of all inventory, including daily tracking of production usage, compliance with First In, First Out (FIFO) inventory processes, traceability for Quality Assurance and Food Safety compliance, monthly physical inventory counts and reconciliation with Accounting

  • Procures all constituents (ingredients, packaging material, etc), ensuring that all required constituents are on hand to meet production schedules, and that costs align with contracted pricing (where applicable)

  • Manages all Shipping and Receiving, including the scheduling of all incoming and outgoing freight, ensuring compliance of Heartland Harvest Inc.'s shipping and receiving policies, preparing Bills of Lading (BOL's) and other required documentation for shipments, arranging recycling of all scrap material (food, packaging and other waste)

  • Oversee "Hold and Release" processes to ensure compliance with all policies for products identified as non-conforming by the Quality Assurance team (including products that require segregated storage and/or destruction)

  • Serve as primary point of contact for all recall reconciliations

  • Directly supervises Warehouse hourly employee; carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws; responsibilities include interviewing, assist H.R. in hiring, and training employee; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and providing career development opportunities; rewarding and disciplining employee; addressing complaints and resolving problems

We're Looking for Someone With:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university and two to four years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
