Warehouse Worker/Delivery Driver position are typically 8 hours per day, 246 work days per year position. Currently testing for an eligibility list at this time which will be used to fill vacancies for up to one year.

Definition

To perform a variety of warehousing duties; to transport various supplies and equipment from the warehouse to school sites; and to perform a variety of tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

Examples of Duties

Essential Functions:

1.Perform a variety of warehouse functions including stocking, shelving, filling and delivering stores and child nutrition orders.

2.Prepare items for delivery quickly and accurately; load and unload stock items.

3.Operate a forklift to move and arrange stock in warehouse.

4.Transport supplies and equipment such as cafeteria food and supplies and school and office equipment and supplies; perform various errands as directed.

5.Collect cafeteria moneys from schools and deposit money according to established procedures.

6.Pick-up and deliver inter-district mail; comply with mail and delivery schedules.

7.Receive, unload, check and shelve incoming items according to established procedures; mark stock items and attach necessary paperwork as required.

8.Receive telephone calls and provide information related to warehoused items and activities as required.

9.Maintain stock inventory and warehouse in a safe, clean and orderly condition; ensure compliance with safety regulations.

10. Operate motor vehicles such as trucks and vans, fork lift, and stock chaser; operate a variety of machines and equipment such as telephones, cord and rope measure machine, rolling stock ladders, hand trucks and carts, trailers and pallet jacks.

11. As assigned, participate in warehouse inventory.

12. Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Employment Standards

Experience: Two years of warehouse experience is desirable.

Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.

Licenses or Certificate: Possession of an appropriate, valid driver's license.

Physical Conditions: Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for lifting, climbing and crawling; work on slippery or uneven surfaces; operate motorized equipment or vehicles; bend stoop, kneel, crawl, walk, stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; near visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; manual dexterity to operate a telephone; lift horizontally and vertically, bend and stoop.

Supplemental Information

This is a Dual Certification recruitment: Candidates who attain a passing score on each examination part will be placed in rank order on an eligibility list after promotional credits are added to the composite test scores of promotional candidates. These examinations are open to permanent employees and the public.
