The forklift operator / warehouse worker at Cooper Tire operates a forklift, handheld mobile computer and / or performs general labor in the warehouse that includes warehousing pallets of tires, order picking (including the manual movement of tires from one pallet to another) and tailgating loaders.
Job specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Driving a sit-down forklift most of the time.
Lifting / carrying tires weighing 50-75 pounds as needed.
Lifting / carrying and safely exchanging propane tanks weighing 60 pounds.
Operating a pallet jack, order picker and/or handheld mobile computer.
This position is located at our Lake Cascades Distribution Center in Findlay, OH.
The job is within a non-climate controlled warehouse environment where you will be exposed to temperature swings (hot/cold), forklift and pedestrian traffic, dust, fumes and noise.
Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures / guidelines must be adhered to at all times. This includes safety wear such as hearing protection, eye protection, and steel-toed shoes.
Punctuality and attendance are extremely important to the success of the operations in general as well as contributing to an overall positive team atmosphere. Dependable job attendance is expected.
All positions are Monday - Friday 8 hour days, with some overtime on weekends
New hires will be placed on 2nd shift based on seniority
Training could be on 1st shift for new hires
High School Diploma or an accredited G.E.D, documentation may be required.
Must be able to pass a hair test drug screen and background check
Must have on-the-job experience using one or more of the following pieces of equipment: forklift, order picker, handheld mobile computer
$1,000 sign on bonus. $250 will be paid to eligible employees after the completion of their first week of employment. The remaining $750 will be paid to eligible employees after the completion of 90 days of employment. Candidate must be a new employee and not a rehire to be eligible.
