The Warehouse Associate will perform a variety of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse.

Responsibilities:

  • Select customer orders from shelves, place onto pallet, and load onto trailer

  • Utilize an industrial forklift (certification not required)

  • Utilize an on-board computer and wireless radio frequency system

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

  • Assist other warehouse workers in completing tasks as requested by the Warehouse Manager or immediate supervisor

  • Process billing runs including labeling and including packing lists for cross docking if required

  • Route freight orders, including bills of laden preparation and labeling for common carrier shipments

  • Sort freight bills by category, run driver manifests, set delivery appointments, data entry of receiving worksheets and inventory reports

  • Assist Warehouse Manager/Supervisor with item/bin maintenance

  • Interact with purchasing, customer service staff as required

  • Some EDI responsibilities may be necessary

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School/GED education preferred

  • Ability to perform clerical and administrative duties with speed and accuracy under limited supervision

  • Minimum of 2 years of receiving experience in a warehouse/distribution environment is preferred

  • AS400/iSeries experience preferred, particularly inventory/receiving functions

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task projects

  • Ability to answer a heavy volume of phone calls from both internal and external customers

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be able to lift heavy objects (occasionally between 60-75 lbs) with or without reasonable accommodation for an entire shift

  • Overtime is required based on business demands; sometimes on short notice

  • Previous warehouse/forklift operation experience a plus but not required

  • Must be dependable and a team player

  • Must be able to work regularly at a height of up to 26 feet above the ground (with provided safety equipment/processes/training)

  • Strong attention to detail

The incumbent is also responsible for performing manual labor tasks associated with receiving, storing, inventorying, and issuing materials, supplies, and assets delivered to and shipped from Lumiere Place. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and not all-inclusive for specific positions.) 1. Provides extraordinary service, positively effects interactions with internal customers and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult customers in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers. 2. Ensures appropriate functions, duties, procedures, and activities of receiving, transporting, stocking of shelves, pulling orders, and delivery of goods are performed, and fulfill objectives and directions from the Warehouse Supervisor. 3. Provides manual labor in the warehouse and receiving dock areas by loading, unloading, moving of goods and assist with receiving function of goods when needed. 4. Disperses goods from warehouse insuring correct item, correct quality and correct quantity of all goods are delivered to the end user and obtaining proof of delivery signatures. 5. Rotates and stocks incoming goods in warehouse coolers, freezers, and shelves. 6. Assist with performing periodic inventories of warehoused goods. 7. Maintain housekeeping of warehouse, cleanliness of facilities, goods are labeled, rotated, and stored property according to HACCP standards, coolers and freezers are within an acceptable temperature range, and all equipment is in safe working order. 8. Performs other duties as assigned by management. WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Must be able to perform manual labor warehouse tasks. Must be able to operate and be certifiable on equipment such fork lifts, pallet jacks, stock pickers, hand trucks, carts, and electronic scales. Must be able to operate and interpret handheld computers following standard operating procedures This position operates in a working environment that Is subject to varying levels of cold, wet conditions and noise. Proper ear protection is available upon request. This position occasionally works outside and is subject to all weather conditions. Proper clothing is provided. This position is physical in nature and requires the incumbent to bend, carry, squat, stand, twist and lift up to 100 pound and push/pull up to 100 pounds in order to store and retrieve items located in the warehouse(s). Must be able to review and comprehend all supply chain documents. Must be able to effectively and efficiently move around warehouse(s), including climbing stairs, operating on uneven surfaces, and ramps. EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES USED: Electric and manual pallet jacks, fork lift, hand truck, cart, electric scale. Certifications may be required.
