Examples of Work
Procures, receives, stores, and ships supplies and components to meet facility needs.
Enters required information onto required forms, invoices, receipts, and documents to maintain accurate records and to prepare reports and listings.
Facilitate the efficient storage and delivery of the merchandise.
Inventories equipment and supplies and reconciles differences to comply with annual requirements and to maintain an accurate record.
Arranges for transportation of uniforms and components to meet agency and user needs.
Consult with customers to assist them in obtaining equipment and supplies.
Enter data into an electronic inventory database.
Work with supervisors to develop and maintain a computerized inventory tracking system.
Provides necessary training for facility clothing coordinators, develops training materials and presentations using PowerPoint.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Experience in warehouse and storage operations including accurate record keeping and operations of a physical inventory system.
PREFERRED: Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
Strong personal computer skills. Experience with inventory tracking and processes.

Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid Nebraska Department of Correctional Services' Pre-service Training Program. Applicants must be able to lift or maneuver boxes up to 50 pounds. Travel to all NDCS facilities as needed to verify and evaluate clothing and inventory processes at those facilities. Candidates will complete a data entry test at time of interview.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of commercial or governmental warehouse and storage operations; inventory methods and procedures. Knowledge of inventory systems; agency organization; applicable agency Administrative Regulations and Operational Memorandums.
Ability to initiate, complete, and maintain required forms. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; operate materials handling equipment and use office machines. Experience in warehouse and storage operations including record keeping and operations of a physical inventory system.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. Ability to maneuver easily in a PC environment. Strong organizational skills.
