Warehouse Team Leader - 2Nd Shift

Responsibilities of this position include providing leadership/direction/engagement for the receiving, shipping and inventory control processes, under the general supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor. The Warehouse Lead will monitor departmental performance targets and assists in creating and executing plans for continuous improvement. This position will also have business responsibilities include increasing efficiencies, reducing costs & waste, improving safety, quality and productivity metrics for the department.

Essential Duties (included but not limited to):

• Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the receiving / shipping, and material handling functions.

• Oversees/performs the verification of inbound/outbound shipments, inventory accuracy, and movement of material.

• Accomplishes departmental goals by communicating job expectations, planning, training, monitoring, and appraising job results.

• Operates powered industrial equipment (PIT) in accordance with established safety procedures, completes daily checklists and notifies the proper individuals of needed repairs.

• Secures and maintains all necessary safety equipment and follows established safety procedures.

• To ensure that all aspects of the warehouse operations are adequately resourced and scheduled with the correct skill levels to efficiently deliver parts throughout the factory to maximize direct labor efficiency and ensure on time delivery of products.

• Able to anticipate/identify problems and use available resources to provide effective solutions.

• Able to act on decisions with the corresponding level of urgency.

• Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

• Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.

• Actively encourage and applies lean techniques and processes.

• Delivers quality and accuracy in own and teams work.

• Delivers high standards of workplace standards.

• Performs special assignments as assigned.

Education/Skills/Experience Requirements:

• 3+ years minimum warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Must be forklift certified; stand up/sit down

• Computer proficient with ERP and Microsoft Office applications, Strong Excel skills required.

• Must have strong prioritization skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.

• Self-motivated and diligent work habits.

• Ability to exercise sound, independent judgment.

• Demonstrates positive leadership and ensures team briefings take place.

• Ensures own team are adequately trained and that personal and technical skills are developed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be 18 years or older

• Able to work overtime & weekends as required.

• Wear safety glasses, long pants, closed toe shoes/boots and any other uniform standards.

• Read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions.

• Ability sit, bend, stoop, climb, and stand for long periods of time in one place.

• Able to lift items up to 50 lbs.
