Primary Purpose:
Supervise daily activities of warehouse to ensure safe and efficient storage and retrieval of
district supplies. Responsible for on-site leadership of warehouse and mailroom staff.
Oversees projects and manages work orders generated for the warehouse staff.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of automated (or computerized) inventory and materials handling systems
Ability to operate hand tools and mechanical equipment
Ability to operate personal computer
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Receiving
Supervise receipt of all shipments. Process receiving, discrepancy, and damage reports as needed.
Move inventory to various locations manually and by operating mechanical equipment, including forklift, pallet jack, and handcart.
Load and unload delivery trucks by hand or with a pallet jack.
Assume responsibility for delivery of all items received by the warehouse to proper school or department on a daily basis.
Evaluate complaints received on shipments of equipment and supplies and take appropriate action.
Inventory
Supervise warehousing and storage of all supplies, equipment, surplus classroom furniture and equipment, certain school records, and consumable materials.
Supervise maintenance of computerized inventory records.
Initiate all purchase requests to keep stock items available at all times.
Develop and recommend procedures for orderly replacement of existing movable equipment as it becomes obsolete or deteriorates.
Safety
Instruct assigned personnel on proper and safe use of equipment and storage of materials. Inspect warehouse facilities, and equipment for safety and efficiency.
Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing. Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.
Initiate and maintain proper and necessary safety and fire prevention equipment within the warehouse as prescribed by law and school policy.
Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to the supervisor.
Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Other

Direct and maintain a safety program for all employees assigned to the warehouse.

Lifting: Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over) on a daily basis
