Job Description:

Provide direct oversight over all Testing & Charging operations, including receiving, testing, shipping and inventory management.

Job Components:

o Provide daily oversight to the activities and overall environment of the Testing and Charging Operations Team Members.

o Drive continuous improvement across all Testing and Charging processes to ensure operational excellence in repair, receiving, shipping, reconditioning, and inventory.

o Regularly evaluate each Team Member to provide positive and constructive feedback, assisting in goal setting and achievement, and personal development.

o Maintain functional knowledge of all processes to support onboarding, cross-training and skill development.

o Ability to quickly gain a subject matter expert knowledge level of current systems and applications to support program tasks, and to identify, create and communicate appropriate metrics and optics at the Team Member and aggregated levels.

o Provide product and component forecasting, and interface with appropriate personnel to determine and maintain adequate program stock/inventory levels.

o Strategically identify areas for process improvement and efficiency, accuracy and cost savings.

o Serve as an on-site contact for escalated issues having to do with inventory, personnel or customer complaints.

o Provide budget insight for program specific components.

o Place importance on each shipment that leaves our distribution center to ensure it reflects the Interstate Batteries brand.

o Coordinate with customer care to respond to all correspondence involving inbound and outbound shipments.

o Engage with carriers and suppliers to build trust and prevent delays.

o Ensure timely shipping performance by reviewing reports daily and creating and sharing clear action plans for performance review.

o Review shipping metrics and analyze data to make strategic decisions for the business, sharing wins and opportunities all stakeholders.

o Collaborate with suppliers and other business partners to ensure business goals are being met.

o Anticipate changes in the business and be prepared to lead projects that will align our Fulfillment network with those foreseeable changes.


o 2-4 years of management or leadership experience

o Intermediate level computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel

o Proficient in excel, replenishment planning, forecasting and data analysis

o Experience in process mapping and creation of standard operation procedures

o Creation and regular use of scorecard and dashboard performance management

o Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. routinely throughout the workday

o Ability to stand for 50% of the workday

o Strong Leadership and planning skills

o Strong written and verbal Communication skills

o Forklift certification preferred

o Electrical or technical testing experience is a plus

Scope Data:

o Must be able to work in a team environment

o Must be able to work independently and with little supervision

o Must be able to provide budget oversight and management to multiple teams

o Must be able to build a strong partnership with supply chain management to ensure adequate stock levels

Work Environment:

o Constant standing and walking on concrete floors

o Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds continually

o Must be able to withstand extreme temperatures

BASIC FUNCTIONS: * Prioritize and assigne tasks to be completed according to work orders, project requests, and emergency calls in accordance with any local and state codes and district policy * Demonstrate accountabilit in maintaining accurate records for labor and material costs, work order completion, and other maintenance records * Make periodic inspections of exiisting fencing, backstops and electronic gates.. * Coordinate work activities with other crafts and operating units * Ensure that safety regulations and safe work practices are observed * Supervise training of new employees * Maintain inventory of tools, equipment and vehicle as assigned daily; inform supervisor of any known problems with tools, equipment, and vehicle immediately, and provide documentation during inspection and/or inventory of tools, equipment and vehicle, as required * Assist in obtaining materials for the job using proper Dallas ISD purchasing procedures * Communicate effectively with principals, department heads, district staff and all other maintenance services personnel, contractors and vendors in a professional manner in all phases necessary to locate, correct, repair and complete each job or project * Must maintain grooming standards and dress code of the Dallas ISD and Maintenance Services Division * Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned * All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate * Accredited High School diploma or USA equivalency, * Texas Driver License and a driving record that meets the District's standard * Two years of directly related experience in fencing, welding and powder coating * Demonstrate leadership and supervisory abilities * Technical knowledge of craft area required for the position * Knowledge of District organization and operations as required for the position * Must be able to pass the Dallas ISD random drug test Dallas Independent School District Dallas TX
