8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including pasta, peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. The company was formed in October 2018 through a combination of Post Holdings' private brands businesses and is owned by Post Holdings and funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. ("THL"), a private equity firm.
Responsibilities
Posting Title: Warehouse Supervisor
Position Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the daily activity of the shipping department. They coordinate and direct shift warehouse operations and personnel to ensure that quality work is performed in a safe, productive, and efficient manner. This position is responsible for maintaining packaging materials inventories and delivery schedules to ensure sufficient quantities to meet production needs. Responsible for planning and deployment of finished goods inventories at multiple distribution centers within company's distribution network.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for scheduling daily assignments for front line warehouse team; leverages and administers policies, programs, and procedures to maximize output while minimizing labor costs
Responsible for training warehouse personnel on safe and efficient warehouse shipping and receiving operations
Proactively monitors and measures warehouse department throughput and quality metrics daily; responsible for coaching, counseling, and managing employees via timely feedback and development.
Establish and execute processes to ensure accuracy of all inbound items received
Maintain communication with the department managers and leads on warehouse shipping priorities and resource needs
Assists Distribution Services Manager in annual development of department operating budget
Assists in improving inventory integrity, troubleshoot areas of concern and lead team to adjust through established cycle counting process
Partners with Health & Safety function to advance warehouse department safety programs and improve employee safety in the workplace. Responsible for investigating and reporting safety incidents and identifying corrective actions to address safety findings
Leverage, 5S and lean methodologies to drive continuous improvement in warehouse processes, positively impacting the areas of quality, productivity, and sanitation
Partner with company leadership to proactively identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities in the areas of: safety, food safety, quality, productivity, and sanitation.
Monitor plant schedules and develop direct shipment plan to multiple Distribution centers as required to maintain a minimum customer service level of 98.5%.
Order all packaging supplies, cartons, cases, and film, based on the plant schedule
Work with warehouse/shipping personnel daily providing delivery schedule of all packaging material to be received and list of direct shipments. Provide information necessary for distribution of FG's, staged and critical.
Coordinate number of trucks required for FG production, and CHEP deliveries.
Schedule direct shipments to various 8th Avenue Food & Provisions locations and 8th Avenue Food & Provisions customers using APO. Coordinate with customer service and trucking companies.
Reconcile all vendor shippers, carton and film inventories, order shippers, cartons, and film based. Work with QA performing product trace verifications as needed. Assist Operations Manager - Packaging & Warehouse with production schedule and special projects
Perform special projects as assigned by Distribution Services Manager and other management personnel.
Provide back-up support to the Distribution Services Manager for production scheduling.

Education and Experience Required:
HS Diploma or GED Equivalent from an accredited institution
Previous experience operating warehouse equipment, and successful completion of a forklift training program
1+ years team or project leadership experience
3+ years manufacturing experience
Previous experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and extra hours, as needed
1+ years of supervisory experience
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
3+ years supervisory experience
Previous experience operating warehouse equipment, and successful completion of a forklift training program
Associates degree in supply chain, maintenance, manufacturing, or related field
Previous experience with implementing behavior-based safety programs
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Strategic planning skills
Elevated level of accuracy and attention to detail
