We are looking for Warehouse Supervisor to support our team at our corporate location in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Summary:

  • Directs warehousing activities for organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversee warehouse operations in a Lean manufacturing environment, using Lean principles for process improvement and problem solving.

  • Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.

  • Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment.

  • Prepares work order for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.

  • Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing.

  • Participates in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities.

  • Maintains stocking locations on all inventory.

  • Ensures that items are organized and properly identified.

  • Standardizes to the best of ability how material is brought in and stored.

  • Evaluates stock area for ways to improve accuracy of inventory.

  • Provides input on employee evaluations in Warehouse area.

  • Submits ideas for improving stock department, as well as cutting down on inventory and storage.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all aspects of the stock area delegating activities to pickers.

  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Responsibilities include training employees:

  • Planning, assigning, and directing work

  • Appraising performance

  • Rewarding and disciplining employees.

  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have good computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word software.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

  • The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
