Position Description

The primary responsibilities of this role is to maintain and manage the warehouse operations by scheduling, planning, coordinating, and maintaining inventory of products and materials going in and out of the warehouse.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and oversee the warehouse operations

  • Proactively reports to Production Manager all emergency/non-schedules deliveries

  • Investigates variances in reports in relation to inventory

  • Comply with OSHA guidelines and company's safety policies and procedures

  • Responsible for helping employees load material onto their trucks

  • Read customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to assemble customer orders from stock and place order on pallet or shelves.

  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code

  • Complete all paperwork pertaining to inventory, which includes shipping confirmations, receiving confirmations, purchase orders, open orders, order check-off, and UPS

  • Ensure complete accuracy of inventory at all times

  • Label all orders and back stock clearly

  • Load and unload customer vehicles; ensure proper paperwork is completed and signed off by the customer after loading of product

  • Process incoming freight trucks in a timely manner

  • Proper use of equipment, including but not limited to forklifts, to move inventory.

  • Inspect equipment to maintain good working order.

  • Record amounts of product received and distributed.

  • Accountable for overall cleanliness/organization of the warehouse

  • Enter records into computer.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 1-3 years Warehouse experience or inventory management experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and multi-task

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to effectively manage time and resolve crisis

  • Experience with Microsoft Office productions including, power point, excel, word and outlook

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Able to stand for long periods throughout the day

  • Valid driver's license

  • Forklift Certification, preferred

  • Must be able to pass a drug test contingent upon employment

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to drive a car and lift a minimum of 10lbs.

  • Must be able to push brooms, mops, vacuum cleaner, lawn mower, etc.

  • Must be able to bend, twist and turn body at shoulders, waist and knees to handle materials.

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time

Work Environment

Works in a Warehouse Environment, able to adapt to weather conditions

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS This position is responsible for the supervision of Warehouse Technicians to ensure the safe, efficient and effective operations of shipping, picking, receiving, returns, blending and PSR functions. The Warehouse Supervisor is accountable for meeting goals related to Safety, Quality, People, Service, Cost and Housekeeping Excellence, while meeting customer requirements in an efficient manner. This position will review operations to ensure attainment of assigned goals and will be responsible for anticipating and taking proactive measures to resolve operational concerns. This position is also accountable for leading an engaged workforce that ensures positive employee relations. Major Tasks Performed: * Coach, train, discipline, motivate and manage hourly warehouse employees. * Promote and maintain positive employee relations and a total quality-working environment with employees. * Act as a positive liaison between employees and management. * Maintain Housekeeping Excellence standards. * Meet and/or exceed departmental goals. * Manage electronic timecards for employees for production and/or payroll. * Conduct annual performance appraisals with each employee. * Support site safety programs, implement new safety procedures and recommend safety improvements. Assure safety compliance to create and maintain a safe work environment for employees. * Must be familiar with equipment and operating procedures in order to make educated judgment decisions and recognize defective equipment or substandard product and utilize appropriate resources to resolve. * Assure all team members are properly trained in critical areas of safety, housekeeping, time management, quality standards and continuous improvement. Transition new team members into the team quickly and efficiently upon assignment. * Demonstrate leadership that is consistent with Company vision, mission and values. Principal Accountabilities: * Contributes to achievement of plant safety goals. * Contributes greatly to improvement and maintenance of warehouse housekeeping standards. * Ensuring smooth flow of incoming and outgoing raw materials and finished goods. * Maintaining accurate shipping/receiving documentation. * Maintaining ISO 9001 and 14001 certification. * Accurate finished goods counts. Basic Qualifications: * Must be at least 18 years of age * Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment visa status * Must have a four year Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or four years of work experience * One year of experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or operations environment; or completion of the GSC trainee program * Knowledge of MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point, and/or Access) and general computer skills * Must be able to operate a hand truck, forklift, and/or material handling equipment Other Qualifications: * Hands on technical/troubleshooting experience * Must demonstrate an understanding of the technical aspects of the distribution/order-filling process * Interpersonal and leadership skills (outgoing and engaged leadership style) * Excellent problem solving and analytical skills * Communication skills * Ability to adapt to changing priorities * Strong work ethic and high energy level * Previous supervisory/leadership experience is preferred * Experience with continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc. is preferred * Experience with timekeeping and/or production control systems is preferred * Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt, Black Belt, Etc.) is preferred * Flexible to alternate shift patterns Whowe are - AtSherwin-Williams, we're proud of the company we keep — our family of loyalemployees.
