Accent Controls, Inc. is seeking a full-time exempt Warehouse Supervisor for the Defense Logistics Agency Distribution, located in Jacksonville, FL. The Warehouse Supervisor will work closely with Government and other contractor employees on base at Jacksonville Naval Air Station. Contract start date: 01 February 2020.

Job Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor provides materials, equipment, and supplies by directing receiving, warehousing, and distribution services; supervising staff. Warehouse/receiving personnel accept and process the receipt of assets. Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must possess the knowledge and skills required to plan, control, manage, and be responsible for the successful completion of the work.

  • Provide overall supervision for the Contractor employees to include, but not limited to, planning and managing the contract professionally, coaching and mentoring supervisors and leads, ensuring that work is scheduled properly to obtain maximum use of resources.

  • Ensure that accurate and timely reports are provided.

  • Effective supervision to prevent inefficient or wasteful methods in the performance of services ordered.

  • Execute cost saving factors and quality controls to ensure work is performed as scheduled and at a fair and reasonable cost.

  • Coordinate and work with other managers to insure functions between departments operate efficiently and smoothly.

  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.

  • Research, analyze and implement methods of increasing productivity, including efficient space utilization and mechanical devices.

  • Manage and meet contractual and Company performance requirements. Provide timely and accurate records and reports as required.

  • Adhere to Government and Company policies and procedures.

  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment.

  • Ability to manage and execute daily and short-to-long range projects for active unit moves.

  • Other duties assigned in association with locally established traffic and distribution management plan, ACI Management requirements, and workload requirements.

SUMMARY OF JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess a valid Driver's License

  • Fluent in speaking, reading and writing the English language

  • Skilled in planning, controlling, managing, multi-tasking and being responsible for the successful completion of work requirements

  • Ensure work is scheduled properly to obtain maximum use of resources

  • Computer literate with proven experience using a warehouse management system (WMS). Distribution Standard System (DSS) experience is a plus.

  • Ability to provide professional, effective supervision in a challenging work environment

Marginal Functions:

  • Performs other related duties as required.

  • Practices physical security and is committed to safety practices.

Working Conditions:

Works on concrete floors and in drafty areas. May be exposed to fumes, fluids, dirt, battery acids, etc., resulting in bruises, cuts, burns, and skin irritation. Wearing of protective wear and other safety equipment is required during all periods of exposure to hazardous conditions. Hand trucks, dollies, and other workers are available for assistance with heavier items.

Physical and Mental Demands

  • Including, but not limited to, standing, squatting, lifting (up to 50 pounds); carrying, walking; pushing and pulling

Requirements

  • A high school diploma is required, as is 2+ years of receiving and material handling experience. Experience managing shipping/receiving clerks is preferred.

  • Highly effective supervisory skills and techniques

  • Knowledge of DISA Defense Information System Agency Department of Defense System.

  • Ability to input, retrieve and analyses data

  • Hands-on commitment to getting the job done

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
