The Warehouse Supervisor - BloomNet (Reno) is responsible for the daily operations of the BloomNet operations under the 1-800-Flowers.com Fulfillment Center & Warehouse. This includes conducting (directly and/or through full-time employees and seasonal temporary employees) receiving, inspection, quality maintenance, order processing, pick & packing, and shipping. The Supervisor is to meet goals and improve operating performance, while ensuring that s/he and subordinates comply fully with standard operating procedures.

The Warehouse Supervisor is to assume full managerial responsibilities during the absence of the Warehouse Manager. The BloomNet supervisor is also to assist and support with 1-800-Flowers operations as directed by business needs/manager, with full expectation of such during 1-800-Flowers holidays such as X-Day, V-Day, and M-Day. S/he is required to utilize computer software (especially, but not limited to, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint) in order to receive, record, and transmit information and communications to cross-functional (ex. individual's working at Corporate) and external entities (ex. FedEx).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Operations Management:

  • Assume managerial responsibilities during manager's absence.

  • Responsible for supporting all BloomNet daily warehouse operations, including but not limited to:

  • Hardgood receiving, inventorying, and distribution.

  • Daily fulfillment: order processing, pick & packing, scanning, and tendering to carrier.

  • Physically carrying-out the above daily processes.

  • Responsible for supporting all 1-800-Flowers.com daily warehouse operations, including but not limited to:

  • Floral receiving, inventorying, hydrating, and quality management.

  • Hardgood receiving, inventorying, and distribution.

  • Daily floral and gift fulfillment: order processing, pick & packing, scanning, and tendering to carrier.

  • Physically carrying-out the above daily processes.

  • Responsible for meeting goals and improving key performance indicators (pick-pack accuracy, quality, and non-deliveries).

  • Ensure full compliance of processes and procedures.

  • Manage warehouse inventory via daily, weekly, monthly, and annual counts.

  • Coordinate procurement and inventory of supplies.

Human Resource Management:

  • Supervise full-time warehouse associate(s) and order processor(s) and seasonal temporary employees.

  • Ensure full compliance of processes and procedures by all subordinates.

Communication:

  • Coordinate and communicate daily with cross-functional entities such as Operations, Inventory, and Transportation Departments.

  • Constantly utilize office equipment (ex. scanner, copiers, phone systems) and computer software (ex. Microsoft Excel, Outlook) and inventory receiving software (iTrade, iSupplier) to receive, record, and transmit information.

Skills/Experience:

  • Supervise Warehouse Associate(s) and Order Processor(s) as well as any seasonal temporary Associates or Order Processors.

  • Associate's Degree preferred.

  • 2+ years' experience in a logistics/operations role required

  • Good written (especially email) and verbal communication skills.

  • Bi-Lingual (Spanish) required

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to learn new computer software and technology quickly via self-learning (or if offered, training).

  • Ability to work in cold temperatures for prolonged periods of time.

  • Ability to work on your feet for an entire shift, be able to lift (up to 50 lbs.), and reach and bend repeatedly.

  • Ability to work multiple shifts in a row, especially during peak-seasons.

  • Forklift and electric pallet jack certifications or ability to obtain one.

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices and objects.

  • Physically lift and carry 50lb objects (ex. boxes).
