Overview

The position is responsible for maintaining warehouse operations in the Socorro, Texas warehouse by receiving, warehousing and delivering finished goods/raw materials; and supervising staff. This is a practical "hands-on" supervisory position.

We are looking for an experienced warehouse supervisor to manage and oversee all warehouse activities, ensure efficient processes, maximize warehouse productivity, and achieve the appropriate level of volume within time limits. The warehouse supervisor's responsibilities include supervising employees, coordinating internal logistical processes, ensuring the quality of goods, and have safety as a priority.

To be successful as a warehouse supervisor you should be experienced in optimizing warehousing processes and be an effective team leader. An outstanding warehouse supervisor should be dependable and have excellent organizational and time management skills along with a great communication.

Responsibilities

  • Assures the warehouse is in compliance OSHA and Safety Requirements.• Meets warehouse operational standards by contributing warehouse information to strategic plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying warehouse system improvements.• Assists with workload, and supervises the workload of the staff, to include the scheduling and the assignment of work activity. Continuously follows up on assignments to assure they are completed to standards.• Motivates, organizes and encourages teamwork within the workforce to ensure set productivity targets are met.• Inspects physical condition of warehouse.

    Inspects physical condition of equipment, enforces safe operating instructions.• Ensures that all procedures and processes are followed in shipping, receiving and inventory control. This includes double checking staged material and cycle counts. Conducts physical inventory count when needed.• Maintains storage area by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; and recommending improvements.• Evaluates the performance of assigned staff; provides training experience as needed; conducts disciplinary actions as needed.• Must be able to stand in for the Manager when needed.• Supervises the cleaning of the warehouse, and functions such as safety and quality of work.• Working under Direct supervision• Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee's performance using LMS as a tool.• Maintaining records, reporting relevant information, and preparing any necessary documentation.• Performing a daily inspection of the warehouse grounds• Identify areas for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Education, Licenses, and Certifications• Bachelor's degree in Administration or related field or equivalent work experience required.• BS/BA in a business, engineering, supply chain or related discipline with three plus years directly related experience, or AS degree in a related discipline and five years of directly related experience, or any combination of directly related experience and education that successfully allows employee to fulfill the duties of the job description.• Previous supervisory experience• Ability to travel within the United States and Mexico• Experience with ISO9001 implementation and compliance• Experience with MRP software such as JD Ewards, Visual, SAP or Oracle• Advanced MS Office Suite skill level• Previous forklift driving experience.

Years of Experience and Knowledge• 3 ~ 5 years of Direct experience required.

Skills and Abilities• Intermediate level Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook); advanced level highly desired• 0% ~ 10% travel required.• Preferred bilingual. • Highly effective supervisory skills and techniques including time management and ability to delegate and follow up.• Ability to input, retrieve and analyze data.• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.• Excellent leadership and organizational skills• Problem-solving skills.
