Warehouse Supervisor

Position Summary:

Leeco Steel is a leading supplier of steel plate from the premier mills worldwide. We have an opening for a 2nd Shift Warehouse Supervisor in Joshua, Texas.

The candidate will perform functions to supervise shipping and receiving activities (to ensure the correct and timely receipt of customer orders.

Manage warehouse operations including safety, shipping and receiving of steel plate, and warehouse employees in 50,000 square foot warehouse.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

• Assign work to employees to meet planned shipping schedule. Check and prioritize shipments as required.

• Ensure shipments received are accurate.

• Evaluate and determine best shipping methods, select and establish working relationships with carriers.

• Monitor work activities in department to ensure work quality standards and planned activity or production schedules are maintained.

• Develop operating methods and procedures and maintain department manual.

• Supervise the preparation of required shipping and receiving paperwork.

• Maintain good housekeeping conditions and safe operating practices.

• Investigate any unusual operational, shipping or receiving issues and take necessary corrective action.

• Assist with work activities as necessary to maintain the flow of work in the department.

• Monitor the inspection and status of non-conforming products

• Responsible for supervising employees engaged in shipping, receiving and warehousing activities. Assign and review work, interview, train, discipline, and evaluate performance of warehouse employees

• Eliminate any problem situations thru corrective action.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

JOB TITLE: Warehouse Supervisor (Non-Exempt)

Promote high employee morale, ensure adherence of all safety procedures . effective housekeeping and maintenance schedules.

Required Skills: To qualify for consideration an applicant should possess the following skills.

Previous warehouse experience and/or supervisor experience preferred.

High School diploma or GED preferred. No prior experience or training.

Should posses the ability to read and comprehend, in English, simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
