MISSION / SUMMARY: Responsible for safely and efficiently running finishing equipment and producing a quality product.

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Coordinates with supervisors/managers and the support departments (scheduler, etc.) to ensure that all necessary materials and information are available on a timely basis for the Shipping department.

  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, packing slips, orders, or other records.

  • Enters data into automated shipment release, appointment scheduling and inventory data systems.

  • Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.

  • Posts weights and shipping charges and affixes postage.

  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.

  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.

  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

  • Operates lift truck or uses hand-truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platforms to storage or work area.

  • Pulls customer samples from Quality Control and includes with product shipments.

  • Schedules appointments for deliveries and pick-up of shipments.

  • Prepares bill of ladings for shipments.

  • Pulls daily releases for shipments.

  • Assists with scheduling and maintaining shipping department when supervisor is out.

  • Keep outside empty pallet area neat and straight. Use fork lift to move pallets as needed. May be required to move or straighten by hand.

  • Unload all roll paper stock, moving to its proper waiting area.

  • Do all shipping and receiving of ink, dies, etc. Follow proper receiving and shipping check procedures. Some customers require special shipping procedures.

  • Maintain waste paper area (compactor/baler), keeping floor clean and bales properly stacked.

  • Load waste trucks.

  • Do daily preventative maintenance checks on fork lifts.

  • Keep propane tanks filled.

  • Cycle count entire warehouse every Responsible for understanding and adhering to all GMP, safety, food safety, SQF, HACCP and food defense procedures (training will be provided)

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • 12+ months previous experience safely operating a forklift, clamp truck experience preferred

  • Computer literacy

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

  • General schedule is an 8 or 12 hour shift, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so

  • Overtime required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Standing for extended periods of time up to 12-hours.

  • Lifting up to 20 lbs.

  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices

  • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment
