MISSION / SUMMARY: Responsible for safely and efficiently running finishing equipment and producing a quality product.
JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Coordinates with supervisors/managers and the support departments (scheduler, etc.) to ensure that all necessary materials and information are available on a timely basis for the Shipping department.
Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, packing slips, orders, or other records.
Enters data into automated shipment release, appointment scheduling and inventory data systems.
Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
Posts weights and shipping charges and affixes postage.
Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Operates lift truck or uses hand-truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platforms to storage or work area.
Pulls customer samples from Quality Control and includes with product shipments.
Schedules appointments for deliveries and pick-up of shipments.
Prepares bill of ladings for shipments.
Pulls daily releases for shipments.
Assists with scheduling and maintaining shipping department when supervisor is out.
Keep outside empty pallet area neat and straight. Use fork lift to move pallets as needed. May be required to move or straighten by hand.
Unload all roll paper stock, moving to its proper waiting area.
Do all shipping and receiving of ink, dies, etc. Follow proper receiving and shipping check procedures. Some customers require special shipping procedures.
Maintain waste paper area (compactor/baler), keeping floor clean and bales properly stacked.
Load waste trucks.
Do daily preventative maintenance checks on fork lifts.
Keep propane tanks filled.
Cycle count entire warehouse every Responsible for understanding and adhering to all GMP, safety, food safety, SQF, HACCP and food defense procedures (training will be provided)
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
12+ months previous experience safely operating a forklift, clamp truck experience preferred
General schedule is an 8 or 12 hour shift, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so
Standing for extended periods of time up to 12-hours.
Lifting up to 20 lbs.
Reading computer screen or other electronic devices
Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment
