Primary Responsibilities

The purpose of the Repack position is to take vendor products and repackage the goods

according to customer specifications or needs. This includes splitting existing boxes or packages using box cutters; sealing repackaged goods using an Arpac machine or tape gun, loading products onto a pallet; wrapping the pallet for transport; and communicating with forklift operators for removal and delivery of products from work location. The employees work with either dry or perishable goods and may be exposed to a cold environment. This position requires you to work in teams and must be able to maintain an expected work pace and meet minimum productivity guidelines as provided by KeHE.

Essential Functions

• Use boxcutter to cut, split, and open packages to size them according to customer specifications

• Load/unload Arpac machine to seal repackaged products

• Communicate with supervisor, office clerk, co-workers and forklift operator to receive work orders, products, maintain workflow and organize work environment

• Handle manual wrap and tape gun wand to wrap pallets and manually seal products

• Read and interpret work orders sent from Central Control for product specifications and customer needs; verify accuracy

• Load pallet according to work order or customer needs and prepare product for transport through warehouse

• Apply knowledge of customer needs to efficiently repack products and prepare for transport.

• Coordinate with co-workers to lift and load empty pallets onto scissor lifts

• Apply labels to loaded orders

• Reconfigure and organize work area by moving conveyor system.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

• Good organizational and mechanical skills

• Familiarity with warehouse technology, such as scanning tools.

• Talent Inventory - such as decision making, attention to detail, conceptual thinking

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.

• Previous warehouse experience helpful but not required, training will be provided.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Physical strength is required for lifting, moving and transporting materials of various weights.

• Strong endurance skills needed.
