Job Description

The individual in this position will fulfill orders by picking, packing, and shipping packages in a timely and efficient manner. The right applicant will have strong attention to detail, excellent multi-tasking abilities, and enjoy working in an environment with shifting priorities and deadlines. This position includes the possibility of working in our screen print department if production demands warrant the need.

Essential Duties

  • Set up boxes of product for picking and packing- organizing and sorting out different quantities, sizes, and variants.

  • Pick product from bins, shelves, or locations to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently to meet customer and company specifications and standards.

  • Identify possible mistakes by actively double checking work.

  • Pack products into boxes, poly bags, and special containers using appropriate shipping techniques and ensuring the right size packing material is used.

  • Sort, organize, and label packages to ensure they are shipped out properly, using various shipping methods for both domestic and international mail.

  • Assist with set up, take down, and staging of product in fulfillment work area.

  • Other warehouse duties as assigned including but not limited to inventory counts, warehouse organization, and cleanup.

  • Be willing to complete any other related duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Experience in pick/packing, shipping, or receiving areas of a warehouse preferred.

  • General knowledge of basic topics such as math, reading, basic accounting, typing, etc. Equal to a high school diploma or GED.

  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment, efficiently handling changing responsibilities and deadlines.

  • Great verbal communication skills with high attention to detail, accuracy, cleanliness, and organization.

  • Highly self-motivated with integrity, high energy, and an aggressive attitude in getting the job done right.

  • Able to prioritize and work efficiently to meet deadlines; work on multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Must be able to handle the physical demands of warehouse work including standing for extended periods of time on concrete flooring, ability to walk, bend, move, carry, and lift up to 20 lbs. frequently; up to 50 lbs. occasionally. This position requires good manual dexterity, including good eye and hand coordination to perform various tasks.

  • Available and able to work additional hours as necessary and required to meet productivity demands.

  • Be able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug and alcohol test; pass random drug tests.

  • Give consent to participate in E-verify.

Responsibilities Under general supervision, Forklift Operator Warehouse Worker will ensure safe and accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of food products utilizing equipment including, but not limited to sit down and stand up forklifts, stand up straddle trucks, walk behinds, pallet jacks, double pallet jacks and radio frequency equipment. Essential Functions: * Load and unload freight using equipment in an efficient and safe manner * Move product to storage areas with proper equipment. * Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate area * Pick orders for shipment and assemble various types of merchandise to be shipped * Check or count freight for accuracy and/or damage and infestation * Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse * Conduct operations in a manner, which promotes safety * Participate in physical inventories, as needed * Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking * Operate equipment safely and efficiently (equipment to include, but not limited to stand up forklifts, stand up straddle trucks, walk behinds, pallet jacks, double pallet jacks and radio frequency equipment) * Report all safety malfunctions on equipment * Comply with OSHA standards * Must be able to meet production standards * Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work environment * Follow attendance policy, show up for work on time and ready to work assigned shift * Charge or change forklift battery, as needed * Perform other duties as assigned, may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: * Requires ability to work independently * May work overtime, evenings, or weekends in order to complete work or to attend meetings, as directed and authorized by management * Requires the ability to pay close attention to details, meet deadlines, and work with difficult individuals * Must have strong relationship building skills * Relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions * Ability to perform work activities requiring reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others Tools and Technology Required: * Computer * Warehouse management system and related components * Pallet Jack, high lift, sit down or stand up lift truck, Hi-lift, RC Education Requirements: * High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred, or at least one year related work experience Americold is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer EOE/AA M/F/D/V DFW Americold Logistics Salt Lake City UT
