BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES

Move materials throughout our Cooler, Freezer and Dry Storage warehouse areas to meet production and inbound/outbound shipment schedules.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Accountable to and Reports to: Shipping & Receiving Manager. Works closely with

Production Managers and Replenishment Buyers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in the accurate inventory of raw ingredients as well as finished products on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

  • Correctly loads and unloads customer orders, verifying counts.

  • Responsible for insuring the storage cooler and freezer are clean and organized using 5-S.

  • Receives in and rotates product using FIFO, product consolidation and proper space utilization.

  • Visually monitors item quantities.

  • Pull orders using RF scanners.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fills in for S/R employees who are off for vacations, illness etc.

  • Performs other job-related duties and special projects as needed.

  • Checks of trailer temperatures.

  • Follows GMP's and adherers to company SOP's.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • The duties of this position are performed in the cooler/freezer areas which are refrigerated and wet.

  • Frequent deadlines exist while handling multiple tasks.

  • Daily contact occurs with employees, office personnel and customers.

  • Shift schedule is Monday Saturday. (Wednesday and Sunday off) Flexibility needed to meet shipping and receiving deadlines.

  • Able to bend, stoop and lift up to 50 pounds on a daily basis.

EQUIPMENT USED TO PERFORM JOB

Photocopier, pallet jack, forklift, telephone, two way radio, RF scanner and calculator. Some computer work may be required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB

High school education or equivalent

At least one year of production experience or shipping experience.

Certified or able to pass the certification of a forklift operator.

Some computer experience necessary.

Position Summary Responsible to complete selection orders by selecting products from the warehouse racks and to assemble, palletize and/or shrink wrap products/pallets for customer orders; accountable for meeting productivity, accuracy and safety work standards. May be required to use a variety of powered industrial equipment and may be required to work in dry or cooled product areas including refrigerated and freezer compartments. Minimum Requirements Degrees High School Graduate (Preferred) Job Experience Prior experience preferred. Prior warehouse, distribution or retail experience preferred. Prior experience operating power industrial equipment, such as an electric pallet jack and high-extender high lift preferred. Must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without a reasonable accommodation in the conditions specified for 8 - 10 hour shifts. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, day and evening hours, and overtime as assigned. Ability to follow basic verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively to conduct the job requirements. Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required. Responsibilities and Essential Duties Complete selection orders; select products from the warehouse racks/pick slots, assemble, palletize and/or shrink wrap products/pallets for customer orders, and label cases/pallets with order labels in a timely, accurate and efficient manner per Company standards. Select or otherwise handle cases, boxes, bags, and/or pallets of dry groceries, frozen foods, dairy products, produce, poultry, fish, beef, pork and/or tobacco products and related products as identified on order forms, in the quantities specified, for delivery to customers. Lift products weighing between 30-60 lbs. frequently and products weighing up to 75 lbs. occasionally, while ensuring and maintaining a safe work environment. Operate power industrial equipment such as a double pallet jack, high-extender high-lift and other moving equipment (i.e., walkers). Maintain a clean and safe work environment by properly disposing of pallet boards, wood chips, and other trash, etc. and ensuring any spills are cleaned up quickly and according to safety guidelines. Conduct inspections of powered industrial equipment as required, using a safety checklist, to ensure such equipment is in good working order. Report damage products and quality issues and notify supervisor of out-of-stock or low volume product(s). Participate in rotation of products, move products to dock areas and perform other duties as assigned.
