We are currently looking for a dynamic individual to work as a Warehouse Operator for our Textile Effects Division located in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this role, you will be responsible for operating fork lift or other material handling equipment as part of the distribution process within a fast paced warehouse setting. The warehouse operator will utilize equipment while performing tasks to include shipping, receiving, unloading, loading, repacking, moving, staging, locating or relocating product.
What will be expected from you?
Load, unload, move and stage materials using a fork lift or other power equipment.
Sorts and places materials in racks or on trailers according to predetermined segregation.
Sort, wrap, palletize, label and check products while ensuring the order is picked accurately and safely.
Repack materials from one package to another package by following proper safety procedures.
Monitor and maintain accurate inventory.
Clean work area and equipment regularly by removing empty pallets, wood and plastic.
Must wear Personal Protective Equipment as required for specific tasks.
Follow company standards and legal regulations to ensure safe and positive work atmosphere.
Maintain forklift equipment by performing routine pre and post inspections.
Maintain material handling equipment by recharging, cleaning, oiling, refueling and other necessary actions, and record all information on log sheet.
Identify and report faulty equipment, damages, and safety concerns to Supervisor immediately.
What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?
High school diploma or equivalent is required
3 years of recent forklift (Standup and Sit-down) experience required
1 to 2 years of experience in a warehouse environment is required
Respirator fit testing required (requires one to be clean shaven)
Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, correspondence and memos
Ability to regularly lift up to 60 pounds
Ability to learn proper operations of warehouse equipment and procedures
Experience working with chemicals and/or hazardous materials is preferred
Experience in a 5S or 6S environment is preferred
Ability to read and decipher a SDS is preferred
