The Washington State Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Warehouse Operator 2 located at the Olympic Corrections Center in Forks, WA. This is for a full-time, permanent position.

Olympic Corrections Center (OCC) is a 381-bed male facility located near the Hoh Rainforest. This facility houses minimum security incarcerated individuals and offers treatment, work, and vocational programs to help ready incarcerated individuals to transition back into the community. OCC also has outside work crews to serve the community as well as fire crews that work alongside Department of Natural Resource employees.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Warehousing

  • Perform warehousing duties in the OCC Warehouse under the direction of the Warehouse Operator 4 or Local Business Manager.

  • Effectively manage inventories to include identifying and maintaining reorder points, stock rotation and inventory levels.

  • Execute and maintain tool control processes.

  • Maintain key control.

  • Monitors assigned email/mailbox(es)

  • Received shipments

  • Collaborates with Correctional Industries

  • Delivers or hands out store orders to incarcerated individuals.

  • Maintains organized record of receipts.

  • Maintain security and discipline of incarcerated individual workers in accordance with DOC Policy.

Supervise Incarcerated Individuals

  • Supervises, trains and evaluates incarcerated individual workers according to Department policies and provided training (CORE, PREA, In-Service).

  • Account for Incarcerated Individuals.

  • Document and provide feedback on Incarcerated Individual job performance and behavior.

  • Maintain accurate timekeeping for Incarcerated Individuals.

Other Duties Assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Physical ability to do the required work.

  • Valid driver's license required and must be maintained for employment.

  • Basic computer experience and Microsoft Office literacy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle

  • One year clerical or technical experience in retail checking. Warehousing, stock keeping, shipping, or receiving and operation of material handling equipment.

  • Intermediate computer experience and Microsoft Office literacy.

The successful candidate may be required to provide valid proof of a baseline TB skin test within 60 days from the date of hire.   When positive tests result, further information, testing and treatment will also be required. Employment is not contingent upon test results.

  • This position may be represented by a bargaining unit.
