This Warehouse Material Handler position is located at Astec's Yankton, South Dakota site formerly known as Kolberg-Pioneer.

About this Warehouse Material Handler Position

Under the direction of the Department Supervisor and in cooperation with the Team Leader, this Parts Shipping Material Handler will handle materials and expedite parts to fill appropriate sales order needs. Accurately and efficiently pack and ship all parts on time.

Key Activities & Responsibilities of this Warehouse Material Handler Role

• Pull, gather, verify, inspect all parts by sales order.

• Assist with shipping documents when backlog occurs, as necessary.

• Pack all parts per requirements for LTL shipping, both domestic and international requirements.

• Transport heavy material using a forklift both inside and outside of buildings

• Package materials and parts in various containers for safe shipment to internal and external customers

• Develop bills of lading (loading) and delivery forms

• Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials

• Learn and utilize current inventory computer system

• All other duties and responsibilities that are assigned

• Comply with all of Astec's safety rules and guidelines.

Skills and Experience Required to be a successful Warehouse Material Handler

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

• 0-to-1-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Operating knowledge of Forklift a plus, but not required.

• Computer experience desired, particularly the ability to use a mouse, and locate and open/close files.

• Adept at problem-solving. Adaptable to new situations and challenges. Open to changes and new ideas.

• Ability to satisfactorily work alone with reasonable instructions, training, and supervision, and ability to work with others respectfully and professionally in a team environment.

• Ability to communicate, express one's needs, and ask questions.

• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed and written and/or oral instructions.

Warehouse Material Handler Work Schedule

• Day Shift: Monday - Thursday 6:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.; Friday 7:30 AM to 4 PM (Every other Friday off unless working overtime)
