The Supervisor, Apparatus Receiving/Stores position plans and supervises daily activities of storeroom operations to maximize internal and external customer satisfaction. Implements and monitors appropriate metrics that accurately reflect warehouse performance. Supervises both hourly and salary bargaining employees across three shifts, controls expenses, administers health and safety programs, controls balance on hand accuracy, manpower planning, performance levels, and cost improvement programs. Supervise and train employees. Enforce labor agreements and plant rules. Maintains schedules to production services and production control requirements and shortage reporting. Responsible to maintain accurate receipt and issue records for all manufacturing and service parts inventory and carry out interdivisional transfers as required. The customer contact for schedules and parts availability.
Plan and schedule daily activities of those whom he supervises.
Responsible for shortage reporting to Production Control through reorder point or low limit on min/max system.
Advised Production Control to initiate corrective action to clear shortages.
Insures correct identification on all parts received and issued.
Supervises materials inventory control records.
Responsible to maintain inventory accuracy at 98.5% for Accounting and Production Control purposes.
Responsible for the scheduling of material in sequence as required by Production Control and Production Services.
Responsible for maintaining acceptable performance levels while carrying out manpower planning techniques.
Responsible for issuing schedules and evaluating overtime in accordance with manpower planning.
Participate in company cost improvement program.
Responsible for the receiving and storage of productive materials in stores to minimize material loss or deterioration.
Responsible for administering health and safety programs and establishing good working conditions.
Promote harmonious employer and employee relations by close surveillance of activities to assure strict adherence to existing shop and office agreements.
Responsible for maintaining first-in-first-out for all incoming material.
Performs other supervisory functions as required.
Responsible for the execution of the interdepartmental transfer system.
Responsible for the accuracy of all transactions within the manufacturing inventory control system.
Responsible for maintaining put up schedules and modular arrangements on a timely basis to minimize delays in shipping.
Responsible for the receipt of all incoming raw materials from vendors.
Responsible for maintaining inventory records of all raw materials through processing of purchase orders and packing slips.
Responsible for 24-hr. turnaround from receipt to shipment of warehouse sales orders.
Responsible to lead annual inventory process by coordinating pre-audits, interaction with finance, manufactruing, purchasing and production control.
Responsible for cycle counting process
Bachelor's degree with 5 to 10 years operational experience with an emphasis on production/inventory control, warehouse and/or distribution management.
Background should include supervisory experience preferably in a manufacturing environment with a labor union.
Knowledge with ERP Receiving, Receiving Inspection and Inventory Control.
Experience in Warehouse procedures including packaging, inventory control, receiving and shipping.
Familiar with process improvement, lean and 5s methods.
Payroll familiarity for individuals managed (Kronos preferred)
