Location: Olympic Corrections Center | Forks, WA

Salary Range: $4,976 - $5,771 Monthly

This position is represented by the Teamsters 117 bargaining unit.

Telework is not available for this position. The Warehouse Operator 4 must work in-facility daily.

The Olympic Correction Center, within the Washington State Department of Corrections, is searching for their next Warehouse Manager (Warehouse Operator 4)! The goal of the Warehouse Manager is to ensure the procurement and oversight of supplies and resources provided to incarcerated individuals and staff by providing the right product, service or solution when and where they need it.

As the Warehouse Manager, you will provide coaching and mentoring to staff to further develop their knowledge, skills, and abilities to reach their goals, in addition to providing direct supervision to the other Warehouse Operators. The candidate of choice must be ready to assume responsibility of purchasing supplies, handling instruments in secured locations, and ensuring the inventory counts and organization of supplies is maintained according to policy.

Some tasks you may perform often include providing a safe and clean area to train, mentor and support staff members, providing growth opportunities when available, providing excellent customer service, being responsive, accurate, and timely with supply distributions and supervising, training and evaluating incarcerated works according to Department policies.

As a Warehouse Operator 4, some of your duties will include:

  • Warehouse Management which could look like:

  • Assuming responsibility for the efficient management of the facility warehouse to ensure a safe and clean work environment

  • The planning and assignment of work using independent judgment to meet the needs of the facility

  • Verifying completeness, accuracy and proper authorization for the work produced by staff supervised

  • Providing customer service to OCC staff by answering inquiries and assisting with problems regarding receipt of goods ordered and/or items needed

  • Ensuring all staff and incarcerated workers receive annual safety training and ensure that warehouse equipment is operated in a safe manner

  • Inventory Management to include:

  • Responsible for the accuracy of the inventory tracking system (CIS)

  • Establishes and maintains optimum stock levels using best practices (Just in Time, ABC Inventory Analysis and usage history)

  • Maintain accountability for supplies received in warehouse

  • Staff Development and Supervision

  • Other duties as assigned

What we need (required qualifications):

  • High school graduation or GED Certificate

  • Two years progressive clerical and technical experience in a commissary or warehousing operation

  • Physical ability to do work required of the position

  • Must possess a current valid driver's license

  • Basic working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office business applications

  • Foreign equivalent degrees awarded outside the United States must have a credential evaluation report attached to your application. Telework Details

This position may be allocated for telework. Work may be performed from your home or another offsite location within the state of Washington using a reliable internet or cellular hotspot service at that time.  Employees are expected to perform assigned duties in a safe manner, to take proper care all state-issued equipment, and maintain confidentiality of all information in possession while working offsite.  Employees will be required to commute to a Department of Corrections facility or field office as business requires, to potentially include components of the onboarding process. Some offices will have a "drop in" area available, however, a dedicated workspace within a DOC facility will not be provided.
