Warehouse Manager

Our Laredo Distribution Center. refrigerated facility operating 24/7, is currently seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager to join our Operations team. The essential function of this position is to oversee the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of goods. Ensures workplace health and safety requirements are met and takes responsibility for the security of the building and stock. Plans and organizes the receiving and shipping of Tomatoes, Peppers, Cucumbers and or other produce within the warehouse. Ensure productivity, safety and sanitation targets are met or exceeded. Manage teams of workers and deal with personnel issues such as the training and discipline of staff.

Shift: OPEN ( working hours to be determined by business need)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Daily management of staff and overseeing work organized by department Managers and Supervisors

• Monitors status of inbound/outbound orders with logistics

• Ensures collaboration with Production Unit Business Managers, Inventory Control Supervisors/Leads, Receiving Supervisors, Packaging Leads, Sanitation, Maintenance, HR and Shipping Supervisors to meet business needs.

• Monitor dock quality of inbound/outbound product.

• Delivering and fulfilling objectives and directions from Senior Management

• Producing regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

• Point Manager for escalation to Senior Management and Staffing agency partners

• Conduct and lead the daily status update meeting for the facility. Provide daily briefings to all department management

• Ensure the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment.

• Must maintain confidentiality of all proprietary information, as well as other Company data, including personnel information.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in warehouse supervision/or management, required; Produce industry a plus; College degree in related field, preferred

• Proven track record of excellent decision making and problem resolution skills

• Flexibility in working hours and schedule to accommodate business needs.

• Willingness to work independently, taking ownership of job with minimal supervisor

• Highly proficient in computer use skills: (MS Office)

• NAV experience of shipping, receiving and inventory; JDA and/or Red Prairie experience, preferred

• Proficiency in use of English language with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally, present information and direction, and field questions from managers, employees and external contacts. Spanish, as a 2nd language is an asset, but not required.

• Strong knowledge of local, state and federal laws and requirements to maintain compliance to all relevant statues and guiding principles.

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record is required.

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to work in our refrigerated warehouse with 50° F temperature-controlled zones.

• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. with or without accommodation

• Position requires sitting, standing, walking and bending, squatting, and crawling on a regular basis
